American Airlines has apologized to a woman who says she was humiliated after being told she couldn't fly unless she covered up her romper.Latisha "Tisha" Rowe said she and her son were boarding a flight from Kingston, Jamaica, to Miami, Florida, on June 30 when a male flight attendant asked them to step off the plane to talk, her attorney, Geoffrey Berg, told CNN.A female flight attendant then told Rowe that she would not be allowed to fly unless she covered herself, Berg said. A Michigan woman said she escaped two human traffickers from their home up north last week.According to Michigan State Police, troopers were called to a home in northern Michigan around 3 a.m. on Jan. 10, to investigate the alleged human trafficking case.Roscommon County Sheriff's deputies said they had a woman in custody for stealing a vehicle, but the woman said she escaped a home where two men forced her to clean and perform acts of prostitution.The woman told troopers she was being held against her will by two suspects, identified as James Jarrell and Jeffrey Kobel, both 50 and from Roscommon.She said she had been brought three hours north from Ypsilanti to Roscommon County a few days earlier. There was also alleged drug dealing going on at the residence.The MSP Emergency Support Team and other agencies executed a search warrant at the house and arrested both men.Police charged Jarrell with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of unlawful imprisonment and one count of habitual offender fourth offense. Police charged Kobel with one count of unlawful imprisonment and habitual offender third offense.Both remain in the Crawford County Jail. 1195

A Pennsylvania police department is warning parents to be extra vigilant this upcoming Halloween after finding a marijuana edible that looks a lot like a popular candy.The Johnstown Police Department posted on Facebook that they found candy bearing resemblance to the "Nerds Rope" when executing a search warrant in Stonycreek Township, Pennsylvania.The marijuana edible looks like the traditional Nerds candy but contains 400 mg of THC. "During this Halloween, we urge parents to be ever vigilant in checking their children’s candy before allowing them to consume those treats," police said on Facebook.A marijuana edible, often shortened to just "edible," is a food or drink item that contains marijuana. Medical marijuana is legal in Pennsylvania for pertinent medical conditions, but it's not legal for recreational use. A third horse died in three days at Santa Anita when it collided with another horse during training hours on Sunday. Tikkun Olam, a 4-year-old gelding trained by Eric Kuljac, was euthanized because of his undisclosed injuries. The other horse apparently wasn't injured. Santa Anita has had five horse deaths since Dec. 26, two days before the winter-spring meet began. Last year, 37 horses died at the Southern California racetrack. She says the deep breathing alone can offer someone a sense of peace and help them to remain in the present moment."It focuses on your breathing, it helps you get back into your body, it helps you set an intention, and I'm a big believer that what you focus on gets bigger," Counselor Calyn Crow said.That's why Crow says it's essential to focus on the positive instead of the doom and gloom. Nonetheless, it's clear this virus and the disease it causes are at the forefront of everyone's minds."I've been talking about it with just about everybody in every single session," Crow said.Mental health wellness can be challenging when we're stuck at home, potentially without a job, and facing so many unknowns about the future. However, Crow says there are steps we can take to keep our minds at ease. It comes down to our basic needs."Eating foods that are good for your brain and your body, getting enough sleep, getting enough rest is important."Crow says it's also essential to know when you need to take a break and maybe go for a walk. Time outside in the sunshine can make a big difference when you're feeling down. It may also help to know you're not alone in your feelings, and it's ok to be feeling sad or anxious."We all experience these types of thought processes and thinking when we're under stress. It's just natural for our bodies to go into that flight or fight mode," Crow said.Crow says it's a matter of whether you're able to re-calibrate your thoughts and go back to a natural state of mental well-being. For some people, that's not so easy. So now is a critical time to offer friends and family members extra patience, forgiveness, and grace. Even if we feel out of control right now, those are qualities we can control."You are in control of how you respond to the people in your world. You are in control of what you're thinking, the stuff that comes out of your mouth, how you impact other people."In the end, you know your body best and what it needs. For Leathers, yoga is a practice that feeds her mental well-being, and she'll continue offering online classes until we can all meet in person again. "We don't know if this is something that's going to be happening for two weeks, eight weeks or a few months," Leathers said. "So what we have to do is take this long-term view and start implementing tactics that will maintain this strong level of mental health for us right now.
