ASTANA, June 10 (Xinhua) -- The just concluded trip of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Kazakhstan adds impetus to the building of the Belt and Road, cements the bond among countries for the community of shared future and opens up broad prospects for peace and prosperity in the region, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Saturday.
The two countries, since establishing diplomatic relations 25 years ago, have "made great strides in their ties both in form and in substance," he said. "Beijing and Astana have remained quite attentive to each other's development needs."
The issue, he said, that presses him most about the modern world is that there is a "deficit" in peace, development and governance which he describes as "a daunting challenge" for humanity.
After hearing reports from the delegation, Zhang said that under central government support, the Hong Kong SAR government has united and led people from all walks of life to carry out the "one country, two systems" principle and the Basic Law, cope with various challenges, and maintain prosperity and stability, since Hong Kong returned to the motherland 20 years ago.
Myanmar residents are also doing well. According to He Yuanshu, general manager of a trading company in Tengchong, the company currently employs more than 5,000 Myanmar workers, and the number could exceed 7,000 during busy harvesting seasons.
