ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — The man who killed John Lennon in 1980 says he was seeking glory and deserved the death penalty for a "despicable" act. Mark David Chapman made the comments last month to a parole board before it denied him parole for an 11th time. The now 65-year-old inmate expressed remorse for gunning down the former Beatle. Chapman called his actions "creepy" and "despicable." He said he thinks all the time about the pain he inflicted on Lennon's wife, Yoko Ono. The board said it found his statement that "infamy brings you glory" disturbing. Chapman will be up for parole again in August 2022. 614

A woman who injured three people during a shooting at YouTube headquarters in Northern California has been identified as Nasim Najafi Aghdam.Aghdam, 39, was a resident of San Diego, the San Bruno Police Department said in a statement. After shooting three people at the campus in San Bruno on Tuesday, she killed herself with a handgun, authorities said. A fourth person injured an ankle while escaping the gunfire on campus.Aghdam's brother, who didn't want to be identified, told CNN affiliate KGTV that he didn't know she had a gun. 543

A Wisconsin man says a dog's lick caused him to get a bacterial infection that eventually led to him having to have his legs amputated.Greg Manteufel's wife Dawn said her husband was once a Harley-Davidson motorcycle rider and was healthy just one month ago. He became ill with what they initially believed to be influenza.Blood tests revealed capnocytophaga, the bacteria that spread throughout Manteufel's body. Actor Hugh Keays-Byrne, who portrayed villains from George Miller's "Mad Max" movie franchise, has died. He was 73.Director Brian Trenchard-Smith, who directed Keays-Byrn in 1975's "The Man From Hong Kong," confirmed Wednesday in a Facebook post that Hugh passed away in a hospital on Tuesday."He was a fine actor and a good friend to Margaret and myself for 46 years," Trenchard-Smith wrote. "We spent many happy Sunday mornings with him, his partner Christina, and a group of fellow actors and artists (the Macao Light Company) at the house they shared in Centennial Park.
