(KGTV) -- Tuesday, SpaceX launchged several satellites into orbit that will replace a satellite network and monitor climate change. The Iridium-6/GRACE-FO satellites were launched just before 1 p.m. from Vandenberg Air Force Base. For this particular mission, SpaceX launched five Iridium NEXT satellites as part of the company's campaign to replace the world's largest commercial satellite network. A total of eight Iridium NEXT launches are planned with the company that will send into orbit 75 new satellites. Also on board the Falcon 9 rocket will be satellites that will monitor the movement of earth's mass for NASA and the German Research Centre for Geosciences.Watch the launch in the player below: 775

(KGTV) One person is dead after being partially sucked out of the window of an airplane.Southwest Flight 1380 was forced to make an emergency landing after engine failure following takeoff from New York. The plane was headed for Dallas.Witnesses say the engine exploded, shattering one of the windows and a female passenger was nearly sucked out of the plane at 32,000 feet.The captain was able to safely land the plane in Philadelphia where 148 people were able to walk off the plane, but the injured female passenger was transported to a local hospital and died later, according to the National Transportation Safety Board.Jennifer Riordan, a Wells Fargo bank executive from New Mexico, is the only fatality from the incident.RELATED: 1 dead after plane makes emergency landing in PhiladelphiaThe NTSB says Riordan is the first U.S. airline death since 2009.Southwest Airlines CEO says the company is fully cooperating with the NTSB in the investigation More than 38% of passengers fly Southwest Airlines out of Lindbergh Field, according to the San Diego Airport Authority. 1099
(KGTV) — Los Angeles Police are investigating the death of a six-month-old fetus found in the bathroom of a Sherman Oaks grocery store.Police received the call at about 3 p.m. about an infant's body at a Ralphs grocery store in the 4400 block of Burbank Boulevard, according to ABC-affiliate Los Angeles station KABC.The fetus was discovered in a toilet by a witnessed who then called police, LAPD Sgt. Hector Guzman said during a press conference. Fire personnel arrived and determined it had died.Guzman said they have identified a woman they believed to be the mother and have interviewed her to figure out what happened, according to KABC.Ralphs issued a statement to KABC, saying the bathrooms are behind the scenes and don't impact the safety of customers, employees, and the public.By Wednesday evening, police determined no crime had been committed and no arrests were made, KABC reported. Authorities plan to investigate whether it was a medical emergency. 998
