"The two sides should work to sign and approve the free trade agreement this year and implement it as soon as possible, as it can act as a new accelerator for economic cooperation," Xi told Cosgrove, who is making his first state visit to China.
The four documents refer to the China-Japan Joint Statement inked in 1972, the China-Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship of 1978, the China-Japan Joint Declaration of 1998 and a joint statement on advancing strategic and mutually-beneficial relations that was signed in 2008.
"There could be challenges based on our different political and cultural systems but they should not blur the bigger vision of realizing shared growth and prosperity," he said.
"Thailand's railways will lead all the way to Europe via China' s railway network, making the country the real ASEAN transport hub, " Huang commented.
Putin also promised to strengthen overall cooperation with China, maintain close coordination in international affairs, and jointly deal with the challenges to the development of both countries and to world peace and security.
