(KGTV) -- Tuesday, SpaceX launchged several satellites into orbit that will replace a satellite network and monitor climate change. The Iridium-6/GRACE-FO satellites were launched just before 1 p.m. from Vandenberg Air Force Base. For this particular mission, SpaceX launched five Iridium NEXT satellites as part of the company's campaign to replace the world's largest commercial satellite network. A total of eight Iridium NEXT launches are planned with the company that will send into orbit 75 new satellites. Also on board the Falcon 9 rocket will be satellites that will monitor the movement of earth's mass for NASA and the German Research Centre for Geosciences.Watch the launch in the player below:  775

(KGTV) — Washington state health officials say a patient has died of the novel coronavirus, the first COVID-19 related death in the United States.The victim was described as a male patient at EvergreenHealth Medical Center, who was in his 50s with underlying medical conditions.The governor of Washington state declared a state of emergency Saturday after a man's death.More than 50 people in a Kirkland, Wash., Life Care nursing facility are sick and being tested for the virus, health officials added. A 24-year-old man assaulted an officer, stole his gun and turned the firearm on himself at Brandywine Country Club Wednesday morning, Summit County Sheriff's Office said.Police responded at around 5:19 a.m. to the Brandywine Country Club for reports of damaged property. Brandywine is located in Peninsula, which is midway between Cleveland and Akron.When the responding officer arrived, he found a 24-year-old man on the property. During their encounter, the man assaulted the officer, striking him in the head and knocking him to the ground.As the officer laid semi-conscious on the ground, the man removed the officer's service weapon from his holster. An employee at the golf course went to assist the officer as the man who struck him fled on foot.A short time later, the officer and the employee heard a shot fired in the distance.Several officers arrived on scene to conduct a perimeter check of the property. The man was found lying on the golf course with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, the sheriff's office reports.He was taken to Akron City Hospital-Summa Health, where he was later pronounced dead.The assaulted officer was treated and released from the hospital.The shooting remains under investigation. 1252

The company compiled data from its Drives feature in the GasBuddy app, examining the top 30 metropolitan areas by population from Nov. 2018 to Feb. 2019, noting the frequency of an aggressive driving event.The data shows that no other city has a bigger need for speed than San Diego. According to Gas Buddy, San Diego drivers have 62% more speeding incidents than average US driver, followed by Orlando and Detroit.
