BEIJING/JOHANNESBURG, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday sent a congratulatory message to the current summit of the African Union (AU) underway in Johannesburg, as African leaders are meeting to discuss the continent's development plan in face of mounting challenges.
"The Chinese economy is generally stable in the first six months. We have confidence in achieving the goal of around 7 percent growth for the whole year," he said.
China and India should make joint efforts to push forward the development of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the BRICS New Development Bank (NDB) and the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar economic corridor, said Xi.
China is willing to closely coordinate with Brazil in international organizations and under multilateral frameworks, such as the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, the Group of 20 and BRICS, so as to jointly promote the international system to be fairer and more reasonable and safeguard the overall interests of developing countries, Xi said.
