A Georgia hunter was fatally shot after being mistaken for a deer by another person in his hunting party, police said.Bobby Lane, 17, was in an area of heavy foliage on Saturday when he was thought to be an animal by another hunter, the Glynn County Police Department said in a press release.Lane was taken to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injury, police said.The two hunters knew each other, police said."Apparently he shot through the bush, thinking it was a deer and it happened to be my cousin," Lane's cousin Michael Rawling told CNN affiliates WFOX/ 587

A Chicago house party devolved into chaos when a dispute led to the shootings of 13 people -- possibly at random, police said.The 13 victims range from 16 to about 48 years old, said Fred Waller, chief of the Chicago Police Bureau of Patrol.Four of the victims -- including the 16-year-old -- are hospitalized in critical condition. The other victims are in stable condition, Waller said.The melee broke out around 12:35 a.m. Sunday in the 5700 block of South May Street."This incident stemmed from a dispute within that party," Waller said. "This party was given in the memory of a subject that was slain in April. A judge has ruled that a Concord, New York, family's pit bull, known as Chunk, will get a reprieve, at least for now. The 4-year-old Pit bull will return home temporarily.
