Two days of treats!The group that petitioned to move Halloween to the last Saturday of October has a new proposal: Rather than change the date, why not add a whole extra day of spooks and haunts?On Wednesday, the Halloween & Costume Association proposed a new holiday: National Trick or Treat Day. Double the celebration might bring double the reason to stock up on fake cobwebs and fun-sized candy.Is another holiday even needed?It's not uncommon for schools and neighborhoods to celebrate Halloween throughout the month of October.Family-friendly parades and weekend block parties make it possible for parents to watch kids closely or enjoy their own Halloween fun. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- One man is in jail after police say he bit an officer while resisting arrest. The incident happened in the East Village at approximately 4:30 a.m. Monday morning near Market Street. Police say they received a report of a man behaving erratically and when they arrived the man was rolling around in the the middle of the street. Video shows officers approach the man attempting to resolve the situation peacefully when the man backs away and falls on the the 10News Breaking News Tracker vehicle. Police say the man bit an officer on the knuckle as they were detaining him. He was transported to a hospital where police say he vandalized hospital equipment. The unidentified man was then released by the hospital into police custody where he is facing vandalism and resisting arrest charges. 824

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) -- A top lieutenant to drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman has been sentenced to life in prison in a Virginia courtroom. Damaso Lopez, a leader in Mexico's Sinaloa drug cartel, pleaded guilty in September in an Alexandria federal court to drug trafficking charges after being extradited from Mexico earlier this year. Friday's life sentence was expected after both sides agreed to a life term as part of a plea bargain. In court papers, Lopez admitted he was a senior leader in the Sinaloa cartel and controlled a faction with hundreds of men. He admitted using "sicarios," or hitmen, to conduct murders to further the cartel's interest and move tons of cocaine and other drugs throughout the Americas.Lopez's sentencing comes as Guzman is facing his own trial in New York. 806
