DELANO, Calif. -- Police in Central California have asked prosecutors to look into filing criminal charges against two Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents involved in a deadly chase, according to the Associated Press.Authorities say Santo Garcia and Marcelina Garcia died in rural Delano in March when their SUV hit a pole and overturned as they ran from ICE agents.Police in Delano determined that ICE agents pulled over the SUV before the crash. DENVER (KMGH) -- You could call it the very definition of the old expression of being in "the right place at the right time" when several emergency room doctors saved a man's life at a Denver sandwich shop.The doctors happened to be in town for a conference of ER doctors. They were on a lunch break Monday afternoon at Snarf's on Champa when the man walked in and collapsed."He went into cardiac arrest. His heart stopped beating, stopped pumping blood," said Dr. David Levy. Levy was alongside several of his former residents and a pair of emergency physicians from New Jersey, who all jumped into action."We did chest compressions. We shocked him with the [defibrillator]," he explained.The man was without a pulse three separate times, but the team was able to revive it in time for medics to arrive and transport him to the hospital."Everyone expects this to happen in a hospital in a controlled environment, but when you’re there, and it happens on the floor of a restaurant it takes you by surprise," Levy said. "He would have died if no one was there to intervene."As of Monday night, the man had survived the ordeal and was being treated in the intensive care unit.And what did this group of hero doctors do next?"We washed our hands, sat down, and finished our lunch," Levy said.Levy would go on to win three separate awards that night as part of the convention, the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians. 1478

Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson on Sunday conceded the Florida Senate race to Republican Gov. Rick Scott, ending his re-election bid after the completion of a statewide recount.Scott announced the concession in a statement, saying, "I just spoke with Senator Bill Nelson, who graciously conceded, and I thanked him for his years of public service."Nelson will make a statement at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, his campaign announced.The concession brings to conclusion a key Senate race that continued to be fought well after Election Day.The Senate race -- along with the governor's and state's race for agriculture commissioner -- went to a machine recount a week ago, but the recount did not do nearly enough for Nelson and further formalized Scott's more than 12,000-vote lead. The contest still fell within the .25% standard for a manual recount of overvotes and undervotes, however.Nelson conceded after the noon deadline for the manual recount, when all of Florida's 67 counties were required to submit their final vote totals to the secretary of state, meaning every vote deemed admissible by county canvassing boards and the courts had been officially counted.The results of the recount showed Scott with a vote lead of 10,033 over incumbent Nelson. Before the completion of the manual recount, Scott had a lead of 12,603 votes.Nelson's concession comes a day after Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum ended his campaign for governor by acknowledging that Republican Ron DeSantis had defeated him. DALLAS (AP) — University of Utah officials say star freshman running back Ty Jordan has died. Authorities have not released details about the circumstances of the Mesquite, Texas, native's death. The school announced Jordan's death on Saturday, a day after the 19-year-old was named Pac-12's newcomer of the year. He finished the season with 597 yards rushing, 11 catches for 126 yards, and six touchdowns. Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said in a statement that "words cannot express the devastation and heartache" that the team is feeling about Jordan's death."Ty's personality and smile were infectious and he made a huge impact on our program in the short time he was with us," Coach Whittingham said.
