BEIJING, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Online sales of China's farm produce stood at 300 billion yuan (about 44.75 billion U.S. dollars) in 2018, the country's agriculture minister said Sunday.

The new round of opening-up policy and widening market entry in the service sector has encouraged more foreign firms to invest in Beijing.

"The China-California Business Forum over the past few years has become a premier platform for California and Chinese companies to meet and create new business opportunities," said Brian Peck, Chairman of the Los Angeles Regional Export Council.

In a signed article published on local newspaper Pittsburgh Post-Gazette over the weekend, Chinese Consul General in New York Huang Ping noted that the BRI could serve as a converging point for China-U.S. cooperation in addressing uneven development across the world through promoting connectivity in trade, policy, infrastructure, finance and people-to-people ties.

The two countries stress that China and the EU are increasingly relying on each other, and that against this backdrop, the China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership should be developed to advance global governance reform, and make the multilateral system more effective, better reflect the principle of fairness and justice, and better respond to the challenges in the 21st century.
