(KGTV) -- The controversial immigrant caravan is inching it's way closer to the San Diego border, with at least 132 people already in Tijuana. Many of the migrants plan to walk across the pedestrian bridge in San Ysidro and turn themselves in to the customs officers. The group of more than 600 has ridden trains and walked for miles to get to the United States - Mexico border.  Enrique Morones and his team - known as Border Angels - are sending supplies to Tijuana. "The Border Angels have been very supportive, we've had people on the caravan, we have been collecting items for the caravan," he said. "These people that are coming on a caravan are escaping a situation in their country that they're seeking refuge from. Let's welcome that stranger. Give me your poor, your tired your huddled masses."Jorge Nieto, a journalist following the immigrants' journey, says they have been arriving in Tijuana in small groups - 50 to 100 at a time.Nieto was told that once the whole group is together, they'll cross all at once. The caravan hasn't been without controversy.President Trump tweeted this week, saying he instructed the secretary of homeland security to keep the large caravan out of the U.S., and asked Mexico to keep the immigrants from going through the Country. RELATED: Migrant caravan heads to US-Mexico border "They're trying to escape something. Either hunger or violence or some sort of a war that's going on," Nieto said. "One of the reasons that they go in caravans is there's a power in groups. If you go as a group, then you're more secure."San Diegans For Secure Borders, a local group against the caravan, plans to stop the caravan when they arrive. In a Facebook group they created, they say that the "mass foreign invasion" must be stopped. In 2014, the same group went to Murrietta to stop buses of immigrant detainees from Texas. We reached out to them several times to find out what they plan on doing this week but did not get a response.  2031

(KGTV) -- The 75-year-old pilot who was killed when his small passenger plane crashed in Northern California Friday night has been identified as Carl Morrison of Fallbrook. Sonoma County Sheriff's Office responded to a call from the US Air Force at about 6:40 p.m. reporting an emergency transponder activation from a small passenger plane in the city of Petaluma, about 40 miles north of San Francisco.  Deputies were dispatched to the location but were unable to locate the plane."Around the same time, a woman from San Diego County had called Petaluma PD and reported her husband was overdue home," said Sgt. Spencer Crum of the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.Shortly after 10:00 PM deputies spotted a small fire in a remote ravine near the 3600 block of Manor Lane, Crum said. Deputies reached the location of the fire and discovered the downed aircraft and the body of a man believed to be the pilot.The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.Morrison was believed to have left the Petaluma Airport en route to San Diego County in his Mooney M20 fix winged airplane, the sheriff's office said.Bob Morrison, Carl Morrison's oldest son, said that Carl Morrison was a retired U.S. Marine who served twenty years. He was also the Region Vice Commander of the Fallbrook Senior Squadron 87 Civil Air Patrol. He served with them since 2006.In addition to being a father of six, he was a lawyer who owned an environmental consulting company, Bob Morrison said. But there were those who beat the crowds by getting their shopping done under the full moon.  "We started at like 8:30 [last night]," said one woman shopping with her sister at 4:30 a.m. at the Carlsbad Outlets. The mall had opened their Black Friday event at 6 p.m. Thursday with no closing time until 10 p.m. Friday. That meant those willing to shop all night, had free reign to scour the deals with a lot less competition.  "I think the only reason we're here at this time, said the woman, "is because there's no lines. And we can leave our kids at home. They're sleeping while we can shop."  Of course, an all night shopping event doesn't happen without workers.   "I started last night at 5pm." Said the manager of Joe's Jeans as the clock neared 5:30am.  Asked how she was holding up, she replied, "I'm doing good. I'm off in a little bit."  "Have a great day you guys." A door monitor at Tory Burch said to two customers leaving the store as she turned to others in line to get in. "I can let two in."  High end hand bags and purses, with prices slashed 50 to 75 percent, were selling fast.  Other irresistible deals were at the Disney Store.  "We've got Princess stuff. We have Toy Story stuff," said one mother sifting through bags of new toys. "It was about 250 dollars for everything in these bags. So, pretty good deal for three full bags of toys."  1567
