YUBA CITY, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say two crop-dusting planes have crashed in midair over a Northern California rice field, killing both pilots.The Sutter County Sheriff's Office says the single-engine Grumman Ag Cats were seeding the field at the time of Wednesday's collision.The pilots died at the scene north of Sacramento. They're identified as 63-year-old Brian VanDyke of Rio Oso and 59-year-old Burton Haughey of Wheatland.Authorities say Haughey was found inside his aircraft and VanDyke was found on the ground outside his wrecked plane.There's no immediate word on what caused the crash but the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate. 666

Evictions are happening across the U.S. and experts predict it could get worse.“Most states, at this point, I would say have some sort of statewide policy in place. Although again many of those are expiring,” said Lavar Edmonds, a Research Specialist at Eviction Lab.Edmonds is talking about evictions. As state moratoriums end, the impacts on renters and landlords are unknown.“I would imagine you're looking at millions of households that are at risk of facing eviction in the coming months,” he said.The Eviction Lab has a team of researchers tracking the issue. Two years ago, they published a national database of evictions based on records. Now, they are looking at how states are handling COVID-19 and evictions.“In some places that has meant a stopping of eviction hearings,” Edmonds said. He continued to note it could also mean some places are stopping filings, others late fees, and a bunch of different rules.More than 40 million people have filed for unemployment since COVID-19 hit the U.S. according to the U.S. Labor Department. Studies show nearly 78% of renters were able to pay their April rent in the first week of the month, according to the National Multifamily Housing Council.This could be due to additional weekly payments provided by the CARES Act to those who are unemployed.“I now am on unemployment,” Desiree Kane said. “I’m concerned about that though, because the 0 a week pandemic support ends on July 31.”Back in March, Kane, a freelancer, found herself in a situation many others also experienced.“Over the course of 72 hours in the middle of March, I lost 100% of my clients and leads because of COVID,” she said. “I went from living by myself to living in an apartment where we’re splitting the rent multiple ways so that its affordable. WNBA star Maya Moore announced Wednesday that she had married the love of her life — a man that, in part, through her advocacy, had been freed from prison after his wrongful conviction was overturned earlier this year.During an appearance on Good Morning America Wednesday, the Minnesota Lynx small forward announced she had married Jonathan Irons earlier this year."We wanted to announce today that we are super excited to continue the work that we are doing together, but doing it as a married couple," Moore said. "We got married a couple months ago and we're excited to just continue this new chapter of life together."Irons was arrested in 1998 and charged with the burglary and shooting of a suburban St. Louis home. Irons, who was 16 at the time of the shooting, was convicted by an all-white jury and sentenced to 50 years in prison.According to SB Nation, the prosecution's case hinged on the testimony of the homeowner, Stanley Stotler. Stotler identified Irons as the man who had broken into his home, but Irons denied he was at the scene at the time. Police also alleged that Irons committed to the crime, which Irons denies.Moore first met Irons in 2007 through a prison ministry program when she was 18 years old. At the time, she was beginning her basketball career at UConn, where she would go on to win back-to-back NCAA titles.Moore and Irons developed a friendship and stayed in touch throughout the years.
