LINDA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Survivors of violent sexual predators gathered today to protest the release of convicted sex offender Alan Earl James. They put up posters in the restaurant where they held the rally which said, “We don’t want a rape whistle, we want change” and “You care more about the rapist than you do the victim.”James was convicted of felony sex crimes on minors in 1981 and 1986 and sentenced to 28 years in state prison. A judge has recommended his release, but his survivor Robert Nabors says he should stay behind bars. Nabors said, “He will re-offend if he gets out. He did it once before. They gave him a slap on the wrist for raping me, and when he got out, he raped two other girls.”His placement hearing is tomorrow. If he’s released, he’ll be placed in Jacumba Hot Springs community. The people there protest his arrival. 858

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. — When Lorenzo Liberti met a Vietnam veteran while serving food to the homeless with his church, he says it changed his life."What mattered was that he was a veteran and now he’s homeless. I’m better off than him and I haven’t ever served a day in my life. It made me really realize how much I owed to people like him," said Liberti. 362

She was hospitalized following the incident and later released in June.Furcron was among the thousands of people in front of the department, where demonstrators gathered following the death of George Floyd.According to La Mesa Police, the San Diego County District Attorney has been briefed on the case and will review the investigation to determine if the officer bears any criminal liability.Furcron's attorney, Dante Pride, told 10News that he believes a third party should be investigating the case and the officer who fired the bean bag should face criminal charges if appropriate."There should never be a point in time where an officer should shoot a metal projectile bean bag from an elevated position down on a crowd. That is dangerous and it can kill people and it almost killed Ms. Furcron," Pride says. 1765

Legendary National Football League head coach Mike Ditka does not approve of athletes who kneel during the national anthem, according to multiple news outlets.Last week, Ditka recently became the chairman and owner of the X League, which is a women's football league. On Sunday, Ditka was asked by TMZ Sports during an interview about his new football league about his stance on athletes that kneel during the national anthem, USA Today reported. The former Chicago Bears coach told the reporter that if they can't respect the anthem, then they should "get the hell out of the country.""That's the way I feel," Ditka said in the TMZ Sports interview. "Of course, I'm old fashioned. So, I'm only going to say what I feel … You don't protest against the flag, and you don't protest against this country who's given you the opportunities to make a living playing a sport that you never thought would happen. So, I don't want to hear all the crap."Kneeling during the national anthem first garnered national attention when then-San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick knelt before a game in 2016 to bring attention to the shooting deaths of African-Americans by police, CNN reported. 1195
