KILLEEN, Texas -- The U.S. Army and law enforcement in Texas are asking for the public's help in locating another missing Fort Hood soldier.Family members say they have not heard from Sgt. Elder Fernandes, 23, since Monday, August 17."I don't know where he is at right now. I don't know what he's feeling, I don't know if he's hurt. I don't know what's going on. I just know he's a good kid. He would never disappear and not tell his family where he is at," said Ailina Fernandes, the soldier's mother.The soldier was reported missing on Wednesday, August 19. He was last seen by his staff sergeant Monday afternoon when he dropped him off at his residence located in the 2700 block of Woodlands Drive in Killeen.Fort Hood released a statement late Friday."We can confirm that there is an open investigation of abusive sexual contact involving Sgt. Fernandes," the statement read. "The chain of command takes all allegations of sexual harassment and assault seriously. The unit sexual assault response coordinator has been working closely with Sgt. Fernandes, ensuring he was aware of all his reporting, care, and victim advocacy options. The unit also facilitated his transfer from a unit who has recently deployed to a different unit within the brigade to ensure he received the proper care and ensure there were no opportunities for reprisals. We will provide updates as we are able once CID completes their investigation."The soldier is African American, 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 133 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A Kansas City FBI agent who rushed to help survivors at the Pentagon on 9/11 died Thursday from brain cancer.Melissa S. Morrow, 48, died after a long battle with the disease. Morrow was certified by The World Trade Center Health Program and the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, and as a result of her actions on 9/11, her death is classified as a line of duty death.Morrow was working in the FBI’s Washington Field Office at the time of the attack.When the plane hit the Pentagon, Morrow, who was 31 at the time, responded to the crash site and spent the next 10 weeks there and at an evidence warehouse. During those 10 weeks, Morrow was exposed to hazardous contaminants.Les Kerry, Team Leader of the Missouri Law Enforcement Funeral Assistance Team, said that Special Agent Morrow’s death is a chilling reminder that the 9/11 tragedy continues to take lives. “Just an average citizen who didn’t know her, it’s going to bring back some memories of where you were that day of the tragedy and the travesty that took place on 911 and the days and months to follow,” said Kerry.  Morrow served in the Kansas City office from 2010 to 2018.She will be given a hero’s burial with bagpipes playing taps, a 21 gun salute, and a flyover. Morrow is survived by her mother, father and sister.Visitation is scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 27 at Country Club Christian Church, 6101 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, Missouri. Johnsonville is recalling more than 100,000 pounds of smoked pork sausage products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service. This comes after three reports of consumers finding pieces of hard, green plastic in the sausages.
