BELLEVILLE, Mich. — A Good Samaritan was placed in a bad situation on a metro Detroit highway. Now his close call is going viral on social media while also alerting motorists to beware and trust your instincts. It was around 10 p.m. on Sunday when John Hadyniak of Belleville, Michigan  was heading home driving down I-94. When he got near Belleville road, he saw a woman on the side of the road changing a flat tire. Hadyniak's first thought was to stop and give her a hand, then his red flag radar lit up like the Fourth of July. The trunk on the car was closed, said Hadyniak, who is also a mechanic, and he noticed there was no plate on the trunk of the car. "I noticed that there was no jack and she had a tire iron in her hand," Hadyniak said. "Things didn't add up. It was just a bad feeling."He listened to that gut feeling and pulled out a flashlight and shined it on the woman. "I put the flashlight on her when I got out of the car," he said. "And about 15 feet off the side of the road there was a guy laying in the grass. I hit him with the light. He got up and jumped in the car and took off down I-94"In that moment, Hadyniak thought of what could have transpired. Those "what ifs" are still swirling around in his head. "Worse case scenario, I could have got bopped in the head with that, laid dead on the side of the expressway," he said. "(They could have) robbed me, stole my car – everything. If I wouldn't have seen him, it would have been bad news."Hadyniak posted the phonies foiled plan on Facebook with a warning to folks to be smart and beware. BONITA (KGTV) -- Neighbors in Bonita say their street is becoming congested with "toll dodgers" - drivers who are going out of their way to avoid paying the .55 toll on State Route 125.   It's not just the traffic buildup that neighbors find concerning, it's that these drivers are often speeding - right past an elementary school, parks and horse tracks. In a community meeting Tuesday, the City shared plans to fix the issues on Briarwood and San Miguel Ranch roads. RELATED: Drivers dodging tolls on SR 125 cause problems in South Bay neighborhood"There's a lot of concern about people trying to evade the tolls," said Greg  Cox, with the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. As a result, Cox said the City lowered the speed limit on San Miguel Road to 25 mph and placed a stop sign at a popular horse crossing. They also plan to intall a traffic signal at Sunnyside Elementary School. "If the County can secure a grant for the funding, that could be done within the next year," Cox said. John Scott has been in the neighborhood since the mid 1980s. Authorities say Master Trooper Chris Hollingsworth was mortally wounded in a highway crash early Monday. He had been placed on paid leave this month amid fallout from the May 2019 death of Ronald Greene, which has become the subject of a federal civil rights investigation and a wrongful-death lawsuit alleging he was brutalized by troopers following a high-speed chase. BALTIMORE, Md. – Sunday’s NFL game between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers has been postponed again due to a coronavirus outbreak.The NFL confirmed Friday afternoon that the Week 12 game has been moved to Tuesday, Dec. 1 and it will begin at 8 p.m. EST on NBC. This is the second time the game has been postponed. They were supposed to play Thursday night, but the game was moved to Sunday after an initial wave of players tested positive for the virus.
