Students are in the process of advancing from classroom to school to region to earn a spot in the national finals in National Harbor, Maryland, in May 2020. Spellers who win their school spelling bee but don’t advance past their region can keep their dream alive of competing in the national spotlight. For the third year in a row, the Bee is offering its RSVBee program. It is a participation pathway that qualifies more spellers for the national finals. It is the only way students living in unsponsored regions can advance and is an additional opportunity for the best spellers in the country to compete on the national stage.The Bee created RSVBee with an eye toward fairness, accessibility, maintaining the integrity of the competition and delivering a quality Bee Week experience for all. The Scripps National Spelling Bee has more than 250 sponsors across the country who support the program and make it possible for local students to advance. SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Machelle Hobson, an Arizona mother who ran a popular YouTube channel known as "Fantastic Adventures" and was facing dozens of child abuse charges, has died at a hospital in Scottsdale, according to Ricardo Alvarado, public information officer for the Maricopa Police Department.The Pinal County Attorney's Office said on Tuesday evening that they will wait for an official death certificate before dismissing charges, but will continue to pursue Hobson's assets, which includes more than 0,000 in cash. Delivering healthcare to Americans is once again a central question in this year's presidential election, and the plans proposed by two of the top Democrats in the 2020 field have very little in common. For Elizabeth Warren, she is proposing an entirely public plan with no role for private insurance. At the June presidential debate, Warren agreed that she would eliminate private insurance if she has her way. “Look at the business model of an insurance company,” Warren said. “It's to bring in as many dollars as they can in premiums and to pay out as few dollars as possible for your health care"But a change from private to public would be a dramatic change for most Americans. Nearly 66 percent of Americans used private insurance in 2017, according to U.S. Census figures. Also, a number of Americans are employed by insurance companies. According to the Insurance Information Institute, more than 500,000 Americans are employed in the insurance industry. These facts are not lost on Biden, who advocated at Thursday's debate to maintain the private insurance system."I think the Obamacare worked," Biden said at Thursday's debate.
