BEECH GROVE, Ind. — A man has been arrested after he recorded himself dumping a bag of flour onto the head of a 68-year-old woman at a Beech Grove, Indiana Walmart on Wednesday. An off-duty IMPD officer working at the Walmart on Emerson Avenue just after 10 a.m. when he was informed of the incident. The 68-year-old woman was shopping in the store when a man she didn't know snuck up behind her and dumped an entire bag of flour on her head. The suspect, Phillip Weaver, 22, recorded the incident on Facebook Live and shared it on his social media page. Weaver was arrested Thursday afternoon. He's been preliminarily charged with battery, theft, theft of a firearm and criminal mischief in reference to that incident. Final charges will be determined by the Marion County Prosecutor's office. The incident remains under investigation.  A quick view at Weaver's social media pages shows that he regularly records himself doing what he calls "pranks" to other people in public places and shares them with his followers. Some people commenting on this posts find his "pranks" funny, but others have called him out for what he has done.WRTV has chosen not to share these posts or pranks because of the nature of the content and to protect the victims involved.  1302

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — For three days, Andrew Bryant said he watched the Parkland shooting suspect inside his jail cell. Bryant, an inmate at the Broward County Jail, said he saw Nikolas Cruz pacing and staring at the ceiling inside his individual cell in the infirmary wing.“I don't think he was looking at anyone, just laying down looking at the roof,” Bryant told Scripps station WPTV in West Palm Beach, Florida. Jail records confirm Bryant spent time in the same wing of the jail as Cruz while incarcerated on drug-related charges.Inmate observation logs of Cruz released by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office reveal more insight into the accused killer’s behavior. Bryant said it’s that behavior he saw that made him want to reach out and speak to WPTV. “He was just lost in his mind,” Bryant said.Bryant could hear Cruz, see Cruz, and form his own opinion of Cruz. “I just hope he doesn't plead insanity or he gets off or anything because, in my opinion, I don't think he's crazy and deserves everything coming to him.”Bryant said everyone in the jail, from the deputies to the inmates, were talking about Cruz.“I think he felt intimidated being in jail,” said Bryant. “Everyone had a problem with him.”Bryant’s observations matched those recorded by deputies. A deputy is required to check on Cruz every 15 minutes and record their observations of him. They reported Cruz sleeping most of the day and eating infrequently.Cruz made little eye contact with anyone, deputies wrote in the reports. He often sat with a blank stare and appeared to be in thought. He was not allowed to interact with other inmates.“I’ve got kids so I feel strongly about this situation,” Bryant said. “If he was out of his jail, somebody probably would’ve hurt him, to be honest.”Deputies wrote Cruz is cooperative, logical, and coherent. One night, he requested a Bible to read.On one occasion when he met with his attorney, deputies said Cruz was “responsive to interview, shaking his head, nodding and agreeing, forward and engaging in the conversation.”Jail records show Cruz met with his brother twice last month, as well as with a family friend. He also met with attorneys, psychologists, and investigators.Bryant said the infirmary was on a heightened level of security while Cruz was there. He said inmates were not allowed out of their cells during that time. “When he’s not there, you will get out once or twice a day for an hour or so.”On Fen. 23, Cruz left the infirmary for another floor where he is kept away from other inmates.Bryant was released from the Broward County Jail five days later. 2635

BATAVIA, Ill. – ALDI and Target are recalling peaches due to a possible Salmonella contamination. The Wawona-brand bagged peaches were sold at ALDI stores in Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin between June 1, 2020 and the present, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).The peaches were sold at ALDI in 2 lb. bags and had the following UPC codes, 033383322001 or 849315000400.The CDC says the peaches were also available for purchase through ALDI's partnership with Instacart, a grocery delivery service.Target also announced a "fresh peach" recall on Wednesday, which links to a press release from the Minnesota Department of Health about the Salmonella outbreak. The department says Target is "in the process of removing peaches from its stores."Target says the following of its products are being recalled: Peaches sold per pound: Target item number 267-03-4038 and UPC 492670340386Peach sold "by the each": Target item number 266-03-0010 and UPC 204038000005Two-pound bags of peaches: Target item number 266-03-0002 and UPC 033383322056Two-pound bag organic peaches: Target item number 267-50-4044 and UPC 849315000400White peach sold per pound: Target item number 267-03-4405 and UPC 492670344056.Consumers should not eat the peaches. Instead, the CDC says to throw them away, even if some of them were eaten and no one has gotten sick.Once the peaches have been discarded, health officials suggest washing and sanitizing the places where the produce were stored, like countertops, refrigerator drawers and shelves. The CDC also urged restaurants, retailers, suppliers and distributers not to sell or ship the recalled peaches. As of Wednesday, the CDC says a total of 68 people in nine states had been infected with outbreak strain of Salmonella Enteritidis. Fourteen of those people were hospitalized, but no deaths have been reported. Illnesses started on dates ranging from June 29 to Aug. 3.Evidence indicates that bagged peaches are a likely source of the outbreak.“Many ill people report purchasing bagged peaches sold at certain ALDI stores in several states,” writes the CDC.The CDC is investigating to find the source of contamination and to identify other retailers that may have sold tainted peaches.Symptoms of Salmonella infectionMost people infected with Salmonella develop diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps six hours to six days after being exposed to the bacteria. The illness usually lasts four to seven days, and most people recover without treatment. In some people, the illness may be so severe that the patient needs to be hospitalized. Salmonella infection may spread from the intestines to the bloodstream and then to other places in the body.Children younger than five years, adults 65 years and older, and people with weakened immune systems are more likely to have a severe illness. If you have Salmonella symptoms, talk to your health care provider, write down what you ate in the week before you got sick, and report the illness to your local health department. 3178
