Sonna Anderson was enjoying a horseback ride through the Badlands in North Dakota in September 2017 when her horse, Cody, got spooked, jerked toward a fence and tripped on a cow track in the dirt. "But it's so odd there is nothing in the record that indicated it was time-sensitive or that I needed to be airlifted."For that one helicopter ride, to a hospital farther away in Bismarck, records show that Valley Med Flight charged Anderson ,727.26. Sanford Health Plan, her insurance, paid ,697.73. That left Anderson with a ,029.53 bill.Valley Med Flight did not respond to requests for comment."It shocked me," Anderson said. "I kept thinking, 'my God.' I got a copy of the 911 and air ambulance report to see how long they actually spent with me, when really, it was only around 45 minutes. I wrote [the air ambulance company] a letter telling them that I thought it was all outrageous." 1583

Any guest who threw food or was otherwise disruptive was asked to leave. Working with police, our staff made certain that every guest left the restaurant through the front door of the restaurant. We have turned the security surveillance video over to the West Bloomfield police. SIGNAL HILL (CNS) - A single-engine airplane made a safe landing on a street near Long Beach Airport today, with no injuries reported.The airplane, which had just taken off from the airport, set down about 10:15 a.m. in the 2700 block of Orange Avenue, said airport spokeswoman Cassie Chauvel.The Long Beach Fire Department said in a Twitter posting that the plane ``lost power shortly after performing a touch and go off runway 26L.''The pilot was unhurt, and there was no damage to the plane, according to the LBFD.The Federal Aviation Administration reported that the pilot was the lone occupant of the Piper PA28. 625

SPRING VALLEY (CNS) - A 61-year-old man shot a female relative in the leg during an argument Sunday afternoon in Spring Valley.The woman, whose identity was withheld, was struck in the left leg just before 4 p.m. at 1605 Presioca St., said San Diego County sheriff Sgt. Elizabeth Montoya.Danny Goodman was detained by deputies for the shooting and a weapon was recovered at the scene, a sergeant said. The relationship of the two was not immediately explained.The woman was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital for treatment. Goodman was also taken to a hospital after complaining of shortness of breath, Montoya said. 621
