(KGTV) — A nine-hour standoff between San Diego SWAT officers and a Valley Center man ended with the suspect peacefully surrendering to authorities.William Halverson was arrested hours after the standoff unfolded in the early hours Saturday. He faces multiple charges, including domestic violence, elder abuse, and felon in possession of a firearm, according to San Diego Sheriff's Department.Deputies were called to a home in the 12000 block of Lilac Knolls Road just after 10 p.m. Friday over a verbal argument. VALLEY CENTER (CNS) - The first two homebuilders were named Wednesday for a master-planned community to be built on the site of a former dairy farm in Valley Center.Shea Homes and Beazer Homes will construct some of the 632 planned residences in the 186-acre Park Circle being developed by Touchstone Communities, a San Diego-based real estate investment and land development company.Walnut-based Shea Homes has an office in San Diego. Beazer Homes, based out of Atlanta, has built communities in Fallbrook and Oceanside.The Park Circle community will be the core of Valley Center's South Village and has been in the making for seven years. (KGTV) -- Two people died early Sunday morning after a wrong-way driver crashed head-on into another vehicle shortly after a pursuit.The incident began when Valley Center Sheriff’s Deputies located a Honda Accord reported stolen out of Escondido.Deputies began pursuing the vehicle but, due to weather conditions and speed, decided to end the pursuit.RELATED: CHP investigates scene of fatal wrong-way crash on I-5 off-rampAuthorities continued to track the suspect using areal support.
