SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police asked for the public’s help Monday to find a legally blind man who disappeared from his South Bay apartment. Brian Sampson walked away from his apartment sometime around midnight, police said. He was having trouble sleeping and may have gone for a walk, according to officers. Family members said Sampson is blind and epileptic. He suffered a seizure earlier in the day and was acting confused, police said. Sampson recently moved to the area. United States' Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said Sunday the Trump administration will announce more sanctions against Russia on Monday.On CBS's "Face the Nation," Haley said the Treasury Department will announce the new sanctions and insisted the US has sent "a strong message" about the use of chemical weapons."You will see that Russian sanctions will be coming down," said Haley, reiterating what she said earlier on Fox News. VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (KGTV) - One person is dead after a car crash left a vehicle nearly split in the North County at 1:50 a.m. Saturday morning.The crash occurred on Old Castle Road at Gordon Hill Rd. Police found the vehicle nearly split by a tree. The teenage driver was taken to a nearby hospital but died.Police did not name the driver but said he was 20-years-old from Oceanside.A teen passenger in the vehicle also suffered minor injuries but is expected to recover.Investigators said they believe speed played a factor in the crash and the vehicle may have been racing. 616

Two Kansas girls whose disappearance from a Kansas home triggered a multi-state Amber Alert on Saturday were found safe in Oklahoma.The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Saturday night that it has recovered the girls and taken their father, 40-year-old Donny Jackson of Leavenworth, Kansas, into custody.Earlier on Saturday, The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said that Jackson may have been involved in the homicides of two other children, who were found dead at the home from where the girls had been abducted.The Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at a home around 1 p.m. local time Saturday, where deputies located two deceased juvenile males and discovered two young girls were missing.It's unknown exactly when the double homicide or the abduction occurred.
