(KGTV) — The 18-year-old girl who pushed her friend off a 60-foot bridge into a Washington state river has been charged with one count of reckless endangerment.Prosecutors filed the charge against Taylor Smith, saying the teen engaged in conduct which created a substantial risk of death and resulted in serious physical injury to Jordan Holgerson," according to ABC News.Reckless endangerment is a gross misdemeanor in Washington state and punishable by up to a year in jail and a maximum fine of ,000.Smith pushed Holgerson off the bridge over the Lewis River at Moulton Falls Regional Park near Vancouver, Wash., on Aug. 7.The fall left Holgerson, 16, with six broken ribs, a punctured lung, and air bubbles in her chest, officials said.Footage showing the fall was captured on cell phone video and soon went viral. A nearby surveillance camera also caught Smith pushing Holgerson over.The teens have given conflicting reports of what led up to the fall.Smith has told authorities that she was trying to help her Holgerson overcome the fear of jumping and that she didn't mean to cause harm. (WXYZ) — A dramatic deer rescue caught on video shows officers in Michigan save a buck trapped in a net.Officers Thomas Goodrose and Justin Wells came face-to-face with a 10-point buck trapped in the net of a soccer goal at Bingham Farms Elementary on Monday morning.Noticing how panicked the deer was, the quick-thinking officers used a tool from their vehicle to help control the deer's legs while cutting netting that had started to close around the animal's neck. “Once he had it secure, we came up slow. Held the horn and heard it breathe and relax,” said Officer Thomas Goodrose with Franklin police. “It felt really good. You don’t come across this too much but it was really cool.”In the video, you can see the deer realize the netting is no longer attached, and run back into the wilderness. (KGTV) — The Navy pilot killed when his F/A-18E Super Hornet aircraft crashed in California desert this week has been identified.Lt. Charles Z. Walker, 33, died in the Wednesday crash in a canyon in Death Valley National Park. Officials say the military aircraft was conducting low-level training about 40 miles north of Naval Weapons Station China Lake.“The NAS Lemoore aviation family is grieving the loss of one of our own,” said Capt. James Bates, Strike Fighter Wing Pacific commander, said. “Lt. Walker was an incredible naval aviator, husband and son. He was an integral member of the Vigilante family and his absence will be keenly felt on the flight line. Our aviators understand the risk associated with this profession, and they knowingly accept it in service to our nation.RELATED: Navy fighter jet crashes in Central California, injuring 7; Search underway for pilot”The untimely loss of a fellow aviator and shipmate pains us all.
