A lot of people depend on their service animals to help take care of them. But one Las Vegas woman said when her dog Luna began having trouble walking, she knew she had to go the extra mile to take care of her. Luna is a 10-year-old German Shepherd, emotional support animal and a lifesaver. Her owner is Sharlene Branche."She has saved my life so many times. Literally gotten me out of bed because of my breathing problems," Branche said.So when Branche noticed Luna wobbling as she walked, she became worried. "She has never whimpered. She has never cried, " Branche said. "She has never shown any kind of pain, but it's my turn, our turn for me and my husband to help her."X-rays found no issues with Luna's bones, spine or hips. Yet the problems with her walk persisted. Sharlene reached out to Urban Underdog Las Vegas, a nonprofit group for help. They shared Luna's story on their Facebook page. Cynthia Miyamoto said the response was overwhelming."So we posted it, and in less than about eight hours somebody had contacted us," Miyamoto said.Someone donated a brand new doggie wheelchair for Luna to help her get around better. Branche said she is overjoyed. "She's going to be able to go on her walks and her runs again. And I can't even thank this person enough!" Branche said. "So when we are fitting her with the harness and putting on her I literally started crying because I was so happy and excited," Miyamoto said after the delivery.  1517

A high school teacher in Tennessee is under investigation by Nashville Public Schools officials following a recording students made in her classroom in which she uses profanity and seems to berate kids with foul language.The recording was made last week inside McGavock High School. It shows the teacher telling her kids "I have better things to do than to tell you whether or not you can go to the mother f--- bathroom, that’s not my job. If you have to pee you should be able to get that done without me. I don’t give a f--- about your bladder."MNPS officials say the teacher involved admitted to the behavior. A driver was killed on Interstate 24 when a piece of concrete went through his windshield. Police said the object was likely thrown. The incident happened around 5 a.m. Tuesday near Shelby Avenue. Officials with Metro Nashville police said 54-year-old Joe C. Shelton was killed.According to police, the piece of concrete was likely thrown from the Shelby Avenue Bridge. The incident closed the interstate for most the morning, causing major delays for commuters.     509

A group of lucky dogs dodged cars and stopped traffic as they made their way across the lanes of Interstate 17 in Phoenix Monday morning.Video from Arizona Department of Transportation cameras showed the pack of six small dogs around 9:55 a.m. local time wandering from the shoulder near Thomas Road across several lanes as cars and trucks slowed to a stop.Department of Public Safety motorcycle troopers could be seen approaching the dogs from behind and ushering them off the freeway at McDowell Road.Luckily, DPS said all six of the pups were taken off the roadway safely. 583
