BONSALL (CNS) - A motorcycle and a body were found in the bushes off Old River Road underneath the state Route 76 bridge Sunday.At 2:23 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers requested the San Diego County Medical Examiner to meet them at the scene of an apparent traffic collision, which may have happened earlier Sunday morning, according to a CHP incident log.The officers said the motorcycle was found about 45 feet down, in the bushes.No further information on the incident was immediately available. 515

(KGTV) -- Deputies are investigating after gunshots rang out in Bonita overnight Sunday, leading to the detainment of 10 people.Authorities were called to the 5400 block of Robinwood Road after receiving reports of gunshots around 3:55 a.m. Sunday.After finding shell casings, nine residents were taken into custody. While checking the area, deputies heard 10 more shots being fired before a man, later identified as Salvador Barajas, 25, ran from the area.Following a brief search, Salvador was found by a K9 and taken into custody. Barajas was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation before being booked into jail for negligent discharge of a firearm. 693

BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Romaine lettuce that was sold at Walmart stores across the country is being recalled because it may be contaminated with E. coli.Tanimura & Antle Inc. is voluntarily recalling its packaged single head romaine lettuce after at least 12 people in six states became infected with a strain of E. coli, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Five of those people were hospitalized.Health officials say they’ve determined that the E. coli strain in the affected lettuce was closely related genetically to the strain identified in ill people.The company says a total of 3,396 cartons of potentially affected product were distributed to the following states: Alaska, Arkansas, California, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and the U.S. territory Puerto Rico.Walmart has released a list of more than 1,000 of its stores where the recalled lettuce was sold.Affected packages contain a single head of lettuce with the UPC number 0-27918-20314-9. They are labeled with the “packed on” dates 10/15/2020 or 10/16/2020. No other products or pack dates are being recalled.The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says this strain of E. coli causes diarrheal illness, often with bloody stools. Although most healthy adults can recover completely within a week, some people can develop a form of kidney failure. It’s most likely to occur in young children and the elderly. The condition can lead to serious kidney damage and even death, according to the FDA.The CDC says people usually get sick from the E. coli two to eight days after swallowing the germ. Symptoms include severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting. Some have a fever, which usually is not very high. BALTIMORE, Marlyland — A mother living without her teenage son who was shot and killed last year got to meet the girl whose life he saved with his heart.    Xavier Young was an organ donor.Although lost to gun violence, his gift saved more than one life — it saved an entire family."I think he really wanted me to see that he’s OK and his heart is also still going," said Jennifer Young.Young is Xavier's mother. He was 14 years old when he was shot and killed in Laurel, Maryland last year."We buried him a year ago back on (November 6) so this week has been really tough," Young said.But in darkness, there is a little light as Young met the girl who now holds her son's heart."My son would’ve loved to meet her in life and would’ve heard about her all the time so it’s bittersweet to me," said Young.For Gwendolyn Ihm's family, it was an emotional and humbling meeting."As we celebrate Gwendolyn’s heart transplant, we also have to remember that at that same time there’s another family that are remembering another year of not having their loved one with them," said Brian Ihm, whose daughter now has Young's heart.Ihm was diagnosed with leukemia before she was just 2 months old and the radiation wreaked havoc on her heart."Without Xavier’s heart Gwendolyn would not be at school, she would not be running around, she would not be able to participate like all the kids," Ihm said.Young heard her son's heart beating inside of Gwen."It’s not really him. It’s a piece, and that’s amazing too," said Young.The families have spoken but never met. "I just feel like they remind me so much of him. It’s like he went back to family is what I want to say," Young told WMAR.Xavier was able to donate seven organs and save five lives after his death last November."Without the help of God, maybe Jennifer (Young) wouldn't have made the decision that she made," said Ihm.The hope is for Gwen to be a normal 13-year-old."We just want her to have a couple of good years of health," Ihm said, "and Xavier’s gift has given us that." 2126
