They say what we saw earlier this year was historic.“Those mid-March weeks were the largest we've seen in the history of grocery shopping. I don't expect to ever see big waves like that again,” said Anne-Marie Roerink, President of 210 Analytics.People first stocked up on just cleaning items and then they started stocking up on all types of items, including pantry foods and that precious commodity – toilet paper.Roerink says that while it is possible people will stockpile again later this year, toilet paper may not be on the list. Cleaning items may become hard to find again. The timing of all this really depends on the virus and how cases evolve.“Should it come down to where the virus is big enough of a wave or we might go back down to a shelter in place, or where people feel more safe at home than they do out and about, I can see where our grocery spending will go back up,” said Roerink.Earlier this year, holidays like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day actually contributed to the clearing of grocery shelves. They’re typically holidays where we go out to eat, but that wasn't really an option in most places. So, people had to improvise.“All of a sudden, retail had to absorb all those dollars to take care of mom and cook her a fun brunch or dinner, so we had an enormous peak again for Mother's Day and Father's Day,” said Roerink.That means holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas could change how things work out at the grocery store as well.Generally, supply and demand has started to normalize, but grocery sales are still about 10% higher than what they normally are. It also uses augmented reality to track how moles, freckles and skin change over time.Doctors say apps like these can actually help during this pandemic.“That has led to a significant decrease in visits for screening such as colon cancer, lung cancer, and skin cancer is of course one of those that actually is affected by the pandemic,” said Dr. Arturo Loaiza-Bonilla with Cancer Treatment Centers of America.When doctors and patients are dealing with cancer, time is of the essence.Tools like this app don't replace doctor's visits, but they can help with early detection.“One month of losing a cancer that was just newly found is almost a 10% increase in mortality, so if the screening comes a year later when the cancer is already starting, then we are in a pretty dark situation,” said Loaiza-Bonilla.Doctors at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America say that while the apps shouldn't replace a full physical assessment, they can be used as an additional tool to track new moles and see how certain things develop.If you are at a higher risk for skin cancer and want to use one of these apps, it's important that you do so under doctor supervision.These apps are still not considered a medical device.Doctors hope these tools can eventually be paired with medical records, so patients can be empowered by knowing more about their own health. 1537

There's a growing number of complaints on social media about a new way to see movies in theaters.MoviePass lets you see a new film every day for just a month. However, members nationwide say they're being dropped from the program for violating terms of service that state, no 3D or premium movies.Many customers are wondering if MoviePass is eliminating members who see too many movies — such as four or five a week."My pass was terminated. They claimed that I had used the pass for premium tickets. TOKYO (AP) — The five Olympic rings are back in Tokyo Bay. The rings were removed for maintenance four months ago shortly after the Tokyo Olympics were postponed until next year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The rings are positioned on a barge and stand about 15 meters tall and 33 meters in length — about 50 feet tall and 100 feet in length. The Olympic rings will be lighted at night and are situated in the shadow of Tokyo's famous Rainbow Bridge. The Olympics are to open on July 23, 2021, followed by the Paralympics on Aug. 24. Organizers are confident that 15,400 Olympic and Paralympic athletes can safely enter Japan during the pandemic. 659
