VIENTIANE, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- China will invite 1,500 law enforcement officials from ASEAN member states to attend training courses in China, said Thongbanh Sengaphone, Lao AMMTC leader and Minister of Public Security, at a press conference here Wednesday.
The move came as a follow-up after the five countries agreed during this year's BRICS summit in Durban, South Africa, to set up a joint development bank.
In addition, the two sides have successfully held a series of events, including a special tourism products promotion event, a forum on cultural cooperation and the first Education Policy Dialogue between China and CEE countries.
Xi made the remarks as he met with a group of foreign members of the 21st Century Council in Beijing, where the global think-tank is holding a conference from Friday to Sunday focusing on the world's second largest economy.
He also urged local Chinese to help promote bilateral friendly cooperation between the two countries, which has broad prospects.
