WASHINGTON, April 12 (Xinhua) -- China hopes various parties will continue to step up diplomatic efforts and actively seek effective ways to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue through dialogue and negotiations, Chinese President Hu Jintao said here Monday.During a meeting with his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama, Hu also said China and the United States share the same overall goal on the Iranian nuclear issue.Hu said China stands ready to maintain consultation and coordination with the United States and other parties within the 5-plus-1 mechanism, which includes the permanent UN Security Council members Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States and Germany, and in the United Nations and through other channels.Hu stated China's principled position on the Iranian nuclear issue, saying China is always committed to upholding the international nuclear non-proliferation regime and peace and stability in the Middle East.

That is the main cause of global warming," said Xie, one of China's leading negotiators for climate change talks. "That's why they should take most of the responsibility to reduce carbon emissions."Developed countries have already overused the earth's atmosphere for emissions, occupying what should be emission quotas for developing countries who are developing to meet their citizens' basic needs, he said."Developing countries are now beginning to industrialize. XIANGNING, Shanxi, April 11 (Xinhua) -- The death toll in the flooded Wangjialing coal mine in north China's Shanxi Province rose to 28 after one more body was recovered Saturday afternoon.Rescuers are searching for the 10 miners who remained missing, the rescue headquarters said.About 280,000 cubic meters of water had been pumped out by Saturday, more than two times of the planned volume, said the spokesman Liu Dezheng at a press conference.The water in section two had been all drained up and the search work there had been finished, Liu said.More than 60,000 meters of water had been pumped out in section one, nearly four times than planned, but the water level fell much slower than expected, Liu said.Toxic gas also brought great difficulties to rescue work, he said.A total of 261 miners were working below ground when the mine was flooded on March 28, and 108 miners escaped unharmed while 153 were trapped underground.On Monday, 115 miners were brought out of the mine alive after being trapped for more than a week. They are receiving medical care in five hospitals in Hejin and Taiyuan Cities.

Ltd., is a major project approved by the provincial government. It is expected to produce 6 million tonnes of coal annually once in operation.If the trapped workers cannot be saved, the accident will be China's worst mining disaster in more than two years. In August 2007, a total of 181 workers died at two flooded coal mines neighboring each other -- 172 at one mine -- in Xintai, eastern Shandong Province.
