The NCAA has announced Wednesday a series of major changes to college basketball in the hopes of eliminating corruption in the sport.The NCAA will now allow undergraduate students to participate in the NBA draft and return to school if they are not selected. According to CBS, USA Basketball will be tasked with choosing which prospects are considered "elite."The NCAA also announced major changes to the recruiting calendar, which the association hopes will allow recruits to attend more showcase events put on by high schools. Currently, apparel companies put on some of the most prestigious recruiting events.Finally, the NCAA will hold university presidents and chancellors personally accountable for their own athletics programs. The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo declared an outbreak of Ebola hemorrhagic fever, a rare and deadly disease, on Tuesday, the World Health Organization reported. The declaration came after laboratory results confirmed two cases of the disease in the province of Bikoro."Our top priority is to get to Bikoro to work alongside the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and partners to reduce the loss of life and suffering related to this new Ebola virus disease outbreak," said Dr Peter Salama, WHO Deputy Director-General, Emergency Preparedness and Response. "Working with partners and responding early and in a coordinated way will be vital to containing this deadly disease."This is Congo's ninth outbreak of Ebola virus disease since the discovery of the virus in the country in 1976. The principal of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 people were killed in a February 14 school shooting, said students who walk out today will be punished.Principal Ty Thompson told the students during yesterday's announcements that if they leave campus they will face disciplinary action. A teacher told CNN that the disciplinary action will be an unexcused absence.But that isn't stopping the students: Most of the teachers said they expect a good number of the students to walk out of the classrooms, but they aren't so sure how many will leave campus.However, the student body isn't exactly unified on this walkout. While many of the most vocal students are promoting the walkout, some other students feel conflicted since the walkout marks the Columbine shooting anniversary.
