Dr. Wilma Wooten said the woman, who is in her 50s, tested positive after traveling overseas to an unspecified location and time."The case and exposure details are under investigation," Wooten said. The woman, a San Diego County resident, is in the hospital and is doing well, according to Wooten. Scripps Health officials confirmed that the patient is being treated at Scripps Green Hospital.Scripps Health also said: "As a cautionary measure, we have taken immediate steps to identify staff who may have been exposed and place them on home quarantine as appropriate with our full support, and we will provide additional staffing as needed. We are also assisting the county in identifying anyone not on Scripps’ staff who may have been exposed. If identified, the county will provide notification and manage those cases."Officials said Scripps Green and the nearby Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines are "safe for patient care and all appointments and procedures are continuing as usual at both facilities."RELATED: Santa Clara County announces first coronavirus deathHealth officials say at least one person in the woman's household is under self-quarantine. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Padres players and city leaders surprised more than 140 elementary school students with new bicycles Friday. As part of the Padres Holiday Giving Tour, the team partnered with Bikes for Kids Foundation to gift 141 students at Horton Elementary School. At first, the group of second- and third-grade students thought they were gathered to learn which student had won a bicycle after an essay challenge. One name was read. But then a second student won. A third student had their name read.Just when the streak seemed to come alive, chants of "one more bike" broke out among the students. [they] do not have a bike back there," Pollakov said, gesturing behind a curtain. "The good news, though, is everyone is getting a bike."Thunderous cheers erupted in the Chollas View auditorium, bringing some students to tears. Behind the curtain, a bike and helmet for every student."Today was just beautiful because we got to take a break from the hard world of academics and to celebrate our achievement," Horton Elementary Principal Staci Dent said. The gifts celebrate students achieving a 13-percent boost in English language art scores and 6-percent increase in math scores. All the more encouraging for the school, which is designated as the lowest performing elementary school in San Diego County. Padres pitcher Matt Strahm and second baseman Greg Garcia, Pad Squad members and the Swingin' Friar, and San Diego City Councilmember Monica Montgomery were all in attendance. 1857

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego police are looking for a man accused of committing a lewd act in the Morena neighborhood. The incident happened on Aug. 12, shortly before 4:30 p.m. A home security camera caught the man stopping on the sidewalk and engaging in the lewd act as he crept near a woman that was gardening outside her home.Police say the woman had her back turned to the man, and she never knew he was there."He was within maybe four or five feet at the time," the woman's husband, Jeremy Pritchett, said. "That's frightening about the situation, someone can creep up to you within 4 feet, and you have no idea."A car drove by, and Pritchett said it scared the man away. Pritchett was home at the time but didn't know what had happened until a few minutes after the man took off. He found out after looking through his security camera footage.San Diego police officers say they have identified the man in the video, and they are going to issue a warrant for his arrest. Police say the video was crucial in this case. 1031
