LOS ANGELES (CNS) - An autopsy could be conducted as early as Monday on award-winning former USC offensive lineman Max Tuerk, who died while hiking with his parents on a favorite trail in the Cleveland National Forest. He was 26.Tuerk was pronounced dead at 3:14 p.m. Saturday at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, according to Supervising Deputy Orange County Coroner Erica Arellano. There was no immediate indication of an apparent cause of death, Arellano said.Tuerk was the first-team All-Pac-12 center as a junior in 2014. He started the first five games at center in 2015, then tore ligaments in his right knee and underwent season-ending surgery. Despite the injury, he won USC's Most Inspirational Player Award.Tuerk was a captain both of his final two seasons with the Trojans.Tuerk started USC's final five regular-season games at left tackle as a freshman in 2012 and at left guard in its 21-7 loss to Georgia Tech in the Sun Bowl.Tuerk started 13 games at left guard and one at right tackle in 2013, receiving All-Pac-12 honorable mention."Heartbroken by the loss of Max Tuerk," Trojans coach Clay Helton tweeted. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Warner Bros. says it is delaying the release of Christopher Nolan's sci-fi thriller "Tenet" until Aug. 12, the latest delay for a film that many theater owners were hoping would kick-start the coronavirus-delayed summer season. The delay moves "Tenet" out of July, a month many theater chains had been eyeing reopening. The delay comes as coronavirus cases are surging in many U.S. locales. LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Barron Hilton, the hotelier and philanthropist who led the Hilton hotel chain, has died in Los Angeles at age 91.Hilton, who succeeded his father, Conrad Hilton, as president and chief executive officer of Hilton Hotels Corp. in 1966 and served in that capacity for 30 years, died Thursday at his home, according to an obituary provided by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.He was invited by his father to join Hilton Hotels Corp. in 1954 as a vice president, the foundation said.After taking over as president and CEO, "he was known for creating shareholder value and expanding through innovative real estate transactions, including franchising and a bold move into the Las Vegas gaming market," the statement said. "From 1966 to 1996, he generated an average annual rate of return to shareholders of 15% with dividends."Hilton was the founding owner of the Los Angeles Chargers of the American Football League."Simply put, the modern NFL would not be what it is today without the vision of Barron Hilton," Chargers owner and Chairman of the Board Dean Spanos said.Under Hilton's leadership, the team, which moved to San Diego in 1961 following its inaugural season, won five divisional titles and one AFL championship during his six years as owner. LOS ANGELES (AP) -- California health officials have released guidelines for elementary schools to seek waivers allowing them to offer classroom instruction in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.Officials on Monday said some public and private schools in 38 counties on a state watch list, including San Diego County, can seek waivers from local health officials if they have plans for keeping students and staff safe and meet certain criteria.But the state says school reopenings can't be considered in counties with the highest rates of COVID-19 infection. LOCKPORT, N.Y.  — A woman went into labor while watching the original version of the horror movie "The Purge" at the Transit Drive-In Theater in Lockport, New York. The woman's car would not start because the battery had gone dead, making things even more stressful."It was code red," said owner Rick Cohen with a laugh, who admits that he was worried the baby was going to be born on the spot. In addition, the movie was still playing, making a rescue in the dark more challenging.The Transit Drive-in was built in 1952 and has been operated by Cohen's family since 1957. During the rescue, Cohen was thinking "hot towels, hot water and hopefully not too big of a mess." The drive-in owner has has no children or experience in the delivery room.Cohen was able to use a portable battery pack and flashlight to start the car and escort the woman and her very nervous husband safely to the exit.Social media has also taken a liking to this story with numerous people posting "Congratulations" and "Close call! Could have been the first baby born at the Transit Drive-In.""I guess the baby was in a hurry to come see a movie," said Cohen with a chuckle, who is hoping to meet the parents again.  "I wish them the best but would really like to know how they made out."In the rush to get the couple out of the drive-in and on the way to the hospital, Cohen said he never thought to find out who the parents were and what hospital they were going to.While he has encountered many things in his years as a drive-in movie operator, Cohen said he has never had a situation where a woman began to give birth — especially during a horror movie. 1701
