Two dogs are safe after running onto a Phoenix freeway and disrupting traffic on Wednesday. Video from Scripps station KNXV in Phoenix showed two dogs running onto Interstate 17 near Deer Valley Road. The Arizona Department of Public Safety tried to catch the dogs, but they refused to stop. DPS stopped traffic for a brief time while troopers and Phoenix firefighters attempted to stop the dogs. Officials were able to grab one dog on I-17, but the other dog ran from DPS and away from the freeway into an RV park.Residents at the RV park were able to capture the second dog after almost an hour of running free. UPDATE (9:39 p.m.): Jacob has been safely located, according to San Diego Police.SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police are searching for a missing teenager last seen in the Park West area near Balboa Park.Police say "Jacob" is 15 and diagnosed with autism. He is known to like the Balboa Park area where SDPD officers were searching late Thursday.Jacob is described as a white male, 5'11", weighing 160 pounds, and as having long brown hair. UPDATE: Monday July 6th: Early Monday morning crews arrived at the harbor to retrieve the toppled Christopher Columbus statue. A dive team went into the harbor, found the statue and began pulling pieces of it out. Attempts to remove the statue from the water on Sunday failed. Vanderbilt University has launched an investigation after several students and faculty members received a racist email promoting white supremacy. Monday night, students went sent an email asking them to subscribe to a white supremacist email list. At this point, it appears that the email only went out to certain students who are part of a black on-campus fraternity organization.The N-word was used in the email and was followed by a sentence reading, "White Pride at Vanderbilt and Worldwide."Around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Vanderbilt officials Tweeted about the incident, saying it was "absolutely unacceptable." 633
