George Papadopoulos, the former Trump campaign adviser who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, is making his first appearance testifying on Capitol Hill later this month.Papadopoulos is expected to testify behind closed doors before a small group of lawmakers on the House Judiciary and Oversight committees on October 25, according to two sources familiar with the matter. The interview is part of Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte and Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy's investigation into the FBI's handling of the Hillary Clinton email and Russia investigations, although Democrats are likely to press the former Trump foreign policy adviser on potential Russia collusion, too.Papadopoulos has also been in discussions with the Senate Intelligence Committee for an interview, according to one of the sources. And California Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, has expressed a desire to speak to Papadopoulos as part of his investigation into potential collusion between Trump's team and Russia. Schiff and the House Intelligence Committee Democrats interviewed Papadopoulos' wife, Simona Mangiante Papadopoulos, in July.A committee aide said the panel's Democrats are still interested in talking to Papadopoulos and "look forward to scheduling an interview at the appropriate time."Papadopoulos tweeted?Thursday that he was coming to Capitol Hill, suggesting there was an effort to discredit him and his wife before he testified and denying any involvement with Russian collusion."The attempt to discredit my wife and I before my testimony on capitol hill has reached a fever pitch," he tweeted. "Someone is nervous. I think America was smart enough to realize that someone who has never knowingly met a Russian official in their life never could have colluded. Fake news."Papadopoulos pleaded guilty last year to lying to the FBI over his contacts with individuals tied to Russia during the 2016 campaign. He lied about his interactions with Maltese professor Joseph Mifsud, who told Papadopoulos that the Russians had "thousands of emails" about Clinton, according to the charging documents from special counsel Robert Mueller.Papadopoulos told CNN's Jake Tapper last month that he did not recall sharing the information from Mifsud with anyone on the Trump campaign, though he did not completely shut the door on the possibility. "As far as I remember, I absolutely did not share this information with anyone on the campaign," Papadopoulos said, adding, "I might have, but I have no recollection of doing so. I can't guarantee. All I can say is, my memory is telling me that I never shared it with anyone on the campaign."He was sentenced in September?to two weeks in prison, which he has not yet served.Since the sentence, Papadopoulos has suggested on Twitter that British intelligence officials were behind his meeting with Mifsud.A lawyer for Papadopoulos did not respond to a request for comment. 2961

GLENDALE, Ariz. (KNXV) - The newest player on the Arizona Cardinals concession bench is big -- really big.Obnoxiously huge, actually. And it comes with its own nickname: The Gridiron. It's a 7-pound burger that is more equivalent to a Sunday morning tailgate -- albeit one with a price tag.Five 1/3-pound patties. Five all-beef hot dogs. Five bratwursts. Eight chicken tenders. Twelve ounces of fries. Twenty -- that's 20 -- slices of cheese. And eight slices of bacon. But that's just what's in the middle. To lighten it up, there is some lettuce, tomatoes and pickles in there too. Drizzle a bit of Tanker sauce and stuff it between two 10-inch hamburger buns.Done!THE CHALLENGEFor those looking to up their game at the game, and a shot at glory, the Gridiron comes with its own challenge. The fee is .The rules are simple: You have one hour to clear the plate. No help from family and friends, aside from cheering you on.Those that chow down successfully walk away with an Arizona Cardinals jersey and a photo on the big screen. Those that don't, well, have a story to tell.Either way, make sure to pack a few antacids. The Gridiron is available at the Gridiron Grill near section 102.THE REST OF THE LINEUPThe Cardinals also unveiled six new menu items: 1295

HONOLULU (AP) — All 21 members of a group who were arrested over Hawaii's traveler quarantine have been released from jail and returned to California. The group known as Carbon Nation arrived in Hawaii over two days earlier this month. Some of them were seen at a Big Island beach the day they arrived and a video posted online showed their leader, Eligio Bishop, touching a sea turtle, police said.Police arrested 21 of them last week on suspicion of violating a 14-day quarantine on all travelers arriving in the state.RELATED: Hawaii extends 14-day quarantine for all incoming travelersThe quarantine has helped Hawaii maintain low coronavirus infection rates compared to other parts of the U.S. As of Tuesday, 740 people have tested positive and 17 people have died.Bishop and two others were released Monday and flew back to Los Angeles after he pleaded no contest to the quarantine violation. He and other members say they didn't realize Hawaii's quarantine would be strictly enforced. The remaining 18 were released Tuesday and took a flight that night to Los Angeles, said Jessica Lani Rich, president of the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii, which has been arranging flights out of the state for quarantine breakers.RELATED: Major US airlines threaten to ban passengers who refuse to wear masksShe said Wednesday that some people have criticized using a grant to fund the flight assistance program for people who break quarantine.“It was money well spent,” she said. “The whole purpose of sending them back is to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” she said, explaining other expenses and resources would have been expended if they remained. If anyone from the group returns and violates the quarantine, they will be charged again, authorities said.RELATED: US, Canada, Mexico extend border restrictions to July 21A case is ongoing against a woman who police say owns one of the homes the group members booked through Airbnb, Hawaii County Prosecuting Attorney Mitch Roth said Wednesday.Tylea Fuhrmann, 42, was charged with violating an emergency rule prohibiting the operation of short-term vacation rentals, police said. She couldn't immediately be reached for comment Wednesday. It's not clear if she has an attorney. The second house the group rented remains under investigation, Roth said. 2303
