An Arizona family is celebrating a major milestone. Baby Henley was born with a congenital heart defect or a hole in her heart. Weighing in at only 4 pounds and 7 ounces, there was a lot of concern about her health because she just would not eat."Because of the hole in her heart, she just could not eat, it was too difficult for her, so she struggled a lot to gain weight," said Megan Beebe, Henley's mother.So, from the age of 5 months old, Henley has relied on a feeding tube to get all of her nutrition."At one point, it was giving her 100% of her nutrition. We would put all of her formula, breast milk through the feeding tube," said Beebe.In her two years since she was born, Henley has had hundreds of doctor's appointments and five surgeries. She has also been working with a feeding therapist based out of the United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona. Henley does not have cerebral palsy, but her mother tells KNXV they really liked the specialized therapist they have been working with, so they have stuck with the organization."We just had to keep working our way up, until one day she ate an entire Cheeto Puff all by herself," said Beebe.That one Cheeto Puff was a big milestone for Henley."It took her about 10 full minutes to eat one Cheeto Puff but she ate the whole Cheeto Puff all by herself, did not throw up," said Beebe, talking about the relief they felt. They were finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel of Henley's tough road to being able to eat without the aid of a feeding tube.After 27 months, Henley's feeding tube was finally removed. It was a big moment for Beebe. She tells KNXV she sometimes could not help but feel like a failure as a mother."Our number one job is to feed her and keep her alive, and we couldn't do that," said Beebe."The day we finally got to take her feeding tube out, it was like, it was just a miracle. An Arizona man is facing a second-degree murder charge after shooting his girlfriend in the face at his Mesa apartment on Sunday morning.According to police, around 8:30 a.m. officers responded to a report of an accidental shooting near Country Club Drive and Broadway Road.Responding officers found the woman with a gunshot wound to the eye. She was transported to the hospital and was pronounced dead, police said. During interviews with police, 22-year-old Martin Larney confirmed that his girlfriend had spent the previous night at the apartment, which he shares with his brother.Larney told police that as the victim was sitting on the floor changing her clothes, he tossed his handgun onto a couch in the room, causing it to go off and strike her.Police said Larney changed his story twice, initially reporting that he was trying to clear a round when the gun discharged, then finally admitting he was waving the gun at the victim because he "was upset at what she was wearing."According to police documents, Larney also admitted that he thought about shooting the victim as the gun went off, and had "thought about shooting the victim in the past."Larney has been booked on one count of second-degree murder.   1260

An Iowa grandmother won half the 7 million Powerball prize and she didn't even know it at first.Lerynne West, 51, bought her tickets at Casey's General Store in the small town of Redfield, Iowa, while grabbing pizza and coffee with her sister. She said it was a special day because she had bought her first home and was moving in that day.West thought she put the lottery ticket in her purse, but she accidentally left it on the floor of her sister's truck. It lay there for a couple days.When a friend texted the day after the drawing to ask if she had won, West said she hadn't had a chance to check. She rifled through her purse and realized she didn't have the ticket. She quickly called her sister, who found it.West looked at the photo of the ticket her sister sent her and checked the numbers on the lottery's website -- she had won!"I told my sister to get in her truck and get that ticket and get up here right now! And, drive slow," West said in an Iowa Lottery press release.West's ticket and a ticket purchased in New York split the 7 million Powerball jackpot in the October 27 drawing. The holder of the New York ticket has not come forward, according to the Iowa Lottery.West opted to take home 8.1 million in a lump sum, minus what's taken out in taxes. ANAHEIM, Calif. (CNS) - A massive brawl broke out Wednesday at the new Cambria Hotel & Suites in Anaheim involving as many as 100 people, police said.Two people were arrested and two people were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening laceration injuries, Anaheim Police Sgt. Shane Carringer told City News Service. One victim is a boy and the other is a woman, he said.Officers were sent to the hotel at 101 E. Katella Ave., a couple blocks from Disneyland, at about 12:40 p.m. They found about 40 people fighting outside the hotel in the parking lot of the main entrance and up to 60 more fighting inside the lobby, Carringer said.The hotel was placed on lockdown while officers determined whether anyone needed further medical assistance. Ten Orange County sheriff's deputies were called to help sort out the crowd, Carringer said.Police said the situation was cleared at about 3 p.m., but the investigation into what caused the violence was ongoing.Two people were arrested for fighting in public, said Carringer, who added that it appeared the melee involved multiple patrons at the hotel and was not confined to one group of people.Carringer told the OC Register that the fight involved "men and women, adults and juveniles," adding that "it sounds like people had broomsticks and whatever objects they could find in the hotel."The sergeant told CNS that it appeared the fight started at the hotel pool and spilled into other areas. An Arizona man says he discovered something disgusting in his Culver's butter burger, and now he wants answers.Najib Anek says he bit into a fake fingernail that fell off the finger of an employee who made his food at the Culver's in Peoria. "It was inside the sandwich halfway through," Anek said. "It was crunchy man. I threw up three times."Anek said he complained to management, and they apologized.He also said the store's management watched the surveillance video and saw the female employee making his burger without gloves and missing a fingernail.Maricopa County food inspection records show the Culver's location has all "A" ratings going back to 2015. Now, that could change. "Yes, I called the health department, and I have a complaint number," Anek said. The Culver's manager said their insurance is looking into the situation and the offending employee is on leave.  958
