BEIJING, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- President Hu Jintao held a telephone conversation with his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on bilateral ties Thursday, with both sides expressing willingness to promote cooperation.The Chinese president said China-Brazil relations have been deepening in a comprehensive way, marked by frequent exchange of visits between their leaders and political mutual trust.The Brazilian president's state visit to China last year brought the two countries' strategic partnership to a new level as the two sides reached consensus over a broad range of major issues, Hu said.The two countries have agreed to map out a joint action plan, he said, adding that exchanges and cooperation in various fields have seen new momentum and the two sides have maintained close coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs.China-Brazil cooperation enjoys solid political foundation and broad prospect for development, Hu said.He said further development of their strategic partnership is in the fundamental interests of both countries and is their common aspiration. It is also conducive to world peace and common development, he said.He also said China highly values its relations with Brazil and is ready to work with the Brazilians to further promote strategic partnership between the two countries.On cooperation between the BRIC nations -- Brazil, Russia, India and China, Hu said the four countries share the same or similar opinions on many global issues and have great potential in bilateral and multilateral cooperation.China attaches great importance to the cooperation platform of BRIC countries and is willing to strengthen communication and cooperation with Brazil, Russia and India, he said.Hu emphasized China and Brazil are both members of the BASIC countries and share extensive consensus on the issue of climate change. BEIJING, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has reiterated his country's support for the Copenhagen Accord and China's commitments to addressing climate change.In separate replies to letters from Danish Prime Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Wen said the Copenhagen Accord resulting from the UN climate change conference in the Danish capital last year laid the foundation for advancing international cooperation on climate change and pointed the direction for future negotiations.The document reflected the political will of all parties to actively tackle climate change, upheld the dual-track negotiating mechanism of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and its Kyoto Protocol, and reaffirmed the principle of "common but differentiated responsibilities" for developed and developing countries, Wen wrote in the letters dated Friday.He said China would do its best to honor its commitments on climate change, including a reduction of carbon dioxide emission intensity per unit of GDP by 40 to 45 percent by 2020 against 2005 levels, an increase to 15 percent of non-fossil fuels in the country's total primary energy mix by 2020, and an increase of 40 million hectares of forest and 1.3 billion cubic meters of forest volume by 2020 from 2005 levels.Wen said China will continue to play an active and constructive role and work jointly with the international community for a meaningful conclusion of the Bali Roadmap negotiations at the Mexico climate talks with a comprehensive, effective and binding outcome that will reinforce the implementation of the convention and the protocol.

He encouraged both sides to explore new ways of collaboration and foster new areas of growth."Both sides should increase the contacts between business councils so as to boost the cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises."He called for joint efforts to stand against trade and investment protectionism and provide a legal guarantee for expanded mutual investment.In response, Fischer said Austria welcomed the visit of Chinese business promotion delegation.
