TAMPA, Fla. — Attention Chick-fil-A fans! The fast-food chain is adding three new sweet treats to their menu starting September 14. A new chocolate fudge brownie and specialty-grade coffee will join the menu all year, while a seasonal cold brew will only be available for a limited time. The national chain says the brownie features a "rich semi-sweet chocolate melted into the batter along with tasty, fudgy chunks" and is sold individually wrapped. The treat can be purchased separately or by the tray. While the seasonal Mocha Cream Cold Brew gives you a boost and satisfies your sweet tooth. “We are always looking to add fun and flavorful offerings to our menu, and these new dessert and snack options make perfect additions as we enter the fall season,” said Leslie Neslage, director of menu and packaging at Chick-fil-A. “We received positive responses when we tested the Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Mocha Cream Cold Brew in select markets last year, and we hope our customers will be as excited as we are to have these sweet treats join our menu nationwide.”The new THRIVE Farmers coffee joining the menu features a blend of beans grown in Central and South America. FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Robert Wiggins is studying agriculture business and education. It’s a path he didn’t expect for himself because he never saw ranchers or farmers who looked like him. “Growing up in west Texas, I didn’t even like ag when I was a kid. It was a white man’s game, and we weren’t allowed to play,” Wiggins said. However, as Wiggins' family grew, he started to realize the importance of good nutrition and his passion for agriculture took root. “I had kids and community members that needed this. Our community – the African American community – suffers a lot from diabetes, cancers, diseases that could be controlled by eating habits. And so, when we got into this work, it wasn’t about the people that were gonna be working around us, but the people we were gonna be serving.” So he started classes at 834

Classes on social movements tend to focus on the past. But this Black Lives Matter class at the University of Colorado in Boulder focuses on what's happening right now. “So, the whole point is to connect what we're studying in the class to what's happening right now in the real world in real time,” says Professor Dr. Reiland Rabaka. Dr. Rabaka spent 18 months preparing for this class, touching on everything from police brutality and racial profiling to immigration and mental health. “People are documenting it as it evolves as it goes along, and that's really incredible,” the professor says. “And the students are very much a part of a lot of these struggles on the ground.” In March, just miles away from campus, a police officer pulled a gun on a black student picking up trash in his yard. The incident made national news, as well as class curriculum. “I did go to the march for that with like a hundred other people, and then the next day, I had class and talked about it,” says junior Makena Lambert. Lambert says she's been waiting for a class like this since the Black Lives Matter movement started. “No one was teaching me about it in high school, and I remember trying to get people to talk about it at my high school and it really remained unacknowledged,” Lambert says. Several universities nationwide have similar classes. There's even a Black Lives Matter Week of Action at elementary, middle and high schools around the country. For PhD student Jenean McGee, she says the class gives students the tools to become leaders and activists themselves.“It's a political statement. It's activism, and we're able to learn in our everyday lives take what we learned in that class and put it out into the world,” McGee says. 1747

"It's weird being a 16 year old these days," Reid Sotkin said. You could say Sotkin is just your average kid. He's a junior at Jenks High School who likes to hang out with friends. And oh, by the way, he's an investment guru."I just googled what books Warren Buffet recommended and that's kind of how I got my start," Sotkin said.One of his favorite books?"Actually this book right here," he said. "'The Intelligent Investor' taught me quite a bit."Sotkin is so passionate about investing, he's become a source of advice for friends young and old."I started investing myself and then all my friends started asking me what they should invest into and stuff," he said.Now, he's combining his love of investing and his passion for coding to develop an app to teach people how to invest wisely."There's a feature on the app where you put in your salary and how long until you retire, all your bills and everything," Sotkin said. Sotkin's app, "Calculating The Future," is an award winning app."It tells you how much you have to put in each month into each of them and it tells you how much money you'll have when you retire," he said. Sotkin appeared before a panel of judges on a Zoom call, answered all kinds of questions, and won the 2020 Congressional App Challenge."I guess they just chose me to win and then Congressman Hern gave me a phone call one afternoon. Yeah, I was pretty surprised," he said. Sotkin puts his money where his mouth is. He plans on living comfortably. So, he's investing now."I do a couple hundred dollars every month," Sotkin said. "So, I just do that so that way I'll have a couple million dollars by the time I retire just sitting in the background."During our Zoom interview, I just couldn't resist getting some advice about my own investment advisor, 2 Works For You's Chief Meteorologist Mike Collier."He's kind of been giving me some stock tips and they've been kind of terrible," I said as Sotkin laughed. "So, give Mike some advice on how he should invest in the stock market.""Basically, unless you're very smart and spending a lot of time, you're not going to beat the market," Sotkin said.Sotkin said he likes the S&P500. It represents 500 very reliable companies."That's gone up an average of 9.8% since its inception," Sotkin said. "That's the way to go. Just put it in index funds and let it accumulate over 30, 40, 50 years."The future is looking bright for this young entrepreneur and it could be for you, too. Sotkin said it's all about starting early, being consistent, and taking advantage of compound interest."Do you mind if I ask about your net worth right now," I asked."Yeah, but ah...
