She’s part of a growing number of Americans doing so because of COVID-19. In fact, the non-profit organization, Life Happens, just conducted a survey that showed 43 percent of adults have either already delayed retirement or are considering it.“It kind of has to do with the uncertainty of what this is going to look like, this pandemic’s effects on long-term and short-term finances, said Fasia Stafford, the president and CEO of Life Happens.“What we also found interesting was that the younger folks were delaying it even more than the older folks, so when you are looking at folks from 18 to 23, they are thinking that this is going to have long-term effects on them, that their retirement age might be delayed because of what is happening currently.”Currently, it doesn’t help with our country’s high level of unemployment, having so many people postpone their retirement. It negates the natural cycle of people exiting the labor market and making room for newer people to enter.“It is important for society,” said Outon. “I think it is healthy for younger people to get their chance and for there to be ability for them to make decisions and be in charge frankly.”If retirement nest eggs keep cracking because of economic recessions hitting almost every decade, those chances are going to be more and more delayed. 2566

Army officials at Fort Hood confirmed the identity of a soldier who was a suspect in the disappearance of Pfc. Vanessa Guillen who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Wednesday morning during a confrontation with police.Officials with the Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) confirmed the suspect who died Wednesday morning was Aaron Robinson. They also confirmed a second suspect — the estranged wife of a Fort Hood soldier — is also in custody in the Bell County Jail.CID declined to identify the name of the civilian suspect because it was "not in their jurisdiction."CID officials said Robinson and the civilian suspect are currently the only two suspects connected with the case. Officials said social media reports of a third suspect in the case were "irresponsible."The press conference took place a day after Guillen's family claimed that the missing soldier had reported to them before she disappeared that she had been sexually harassed. While CID said Thursday that an investigation into those allegations remains open, they have not yet found credible evidence of harassment.CID also refuted the family's claim that Robinson had harassed Guillen and that Robinson was Guillen's superior officer.Guillen went missing from Fort Hood on April 22. It wasn't until late June that the Army said it suspected foul play in connection with Guillen's death.Army officials reported earlier this week that human remains were found in connection with the search. An Arizona man is facing a second-degree murder charge after shooting his girlfriend in the face at his Mesa apartment on Sunday morning.According to police, around 8:30 a.m. officers responded to a report of an accidental shooting near Country Club Drive and Broadway Road.Responding officers found the woman with a gunshot wound to the eye. She was transported to the hospital and was pronounced dead, police said. During interviews with police, 22-year-old Martin Larney confirmed that his girlfriend had spent the previous night at the apartment, which he shares with his brother.Larney told police that as the victim was sitting on the floor changing her clothes, he tossed his handgun onto a couch in the room, causing it to go off and strike her.Police said Larney changed his story twice, initially reporting that he was trying to clear a round when the gun discharged, then finally admitting he was waving the gun at the victim because he "was upset at what she was wearing."According to police documents, Larney also admitted that he thought about shooting the victim as the gun went off, and had "thought about shooting the victim in the past."Larney has been booked on one count of second-degree murder.   1260

Both women invested thousands of dollars in the popular clothing company LuLaRoe and now worry they could be out some serious cash.Denver-based KMGH talked to and exchanged messages with at least 15 different women, they all told a similar story about a business they loved and broken promises.The California-based company was slapped with a class-action lawsuit accusing it of running a pyramid scheme. The company fired back saying that the lawsuits are “factually inaccurate and misinformed,” The Associated Press reported.“Plaintiffs and so many other consultants were never able to realize any actual profit and, as a result, they failed,” the Oct. 23 filing says. “They failed even though they were committed and put in the time and effort. They failed because they were doomed from the start.”Keenan said she started selling LuLaRoe about a year ago after she fell in love with the company’s comfy dresses. The mom of two teenage boys works part-time as a massage therapist and wanted a new challenge.“You heard stories. You know, I know one lady -- she was able to buy her house full out, and her husband was able to retire. You know, you hear those stories and I knew her personally,” said Keenan.She spent about ,500 to start up her business and estimates she has bought somewhere around ,000 in clothes. She resigned this summer and the company sent her an email stating she would get a 100-percent refund if she mailed the leftover clothes back.Keenan says she was in the middle of a move and by the time she went to mail the clothes back, the company had cancelled that offer.“It was very disappointing, it just kind of made you sick to your stomach,” said Keenan. She decided to part ways because she felt like the company’s values shifted.“They had their policies and they ended this offer and it hurt a lot of people and it hurt two of my personal teammates,” said Jarrett.She has an estimated 500 pieces of clothing sitting in her living room. Ex-retailers feel like they’ve been left with no choice but to discount the items even though they had been told not to.LuLaRoe is offering a 90 percent refund, but several women told KMGH they’ve been waiting months to get their money back. Jarrett said if she sent the clothes back she would have to pay for shipping and all her bonuses would be deducted from the amount she was owed.Many of the same consultants also told KMGH they knew what they were getting into and understood they would be taking on some when they opened a business. They also expressed concern about hurting the other consultants if they sold their merchandise at a discount.“The people that are trying to hold on I wish them all the best and I want them to hold on and I want them to succeed… but I’m just going to have to watch and hope for best for them,” Jarrett said. 3765

ANDERSON, Indiana — An inmate on work release in an Indiana county is accused of stealing election equipment. The Madison County Clerk says no voting was compromised. Indiana State Police said Tyler Sink, 26, was on work release in Madison County and was authorized to work at the clerk's office. Investigators said an employee with the Madison County Justice Center told police they found a personal electronic ballot and a memory card hidden in Sink's personal belongings. State police say they believe Sink stole the equipment after he volunteered to set up a voting site while on work release. Madison County Clerk Darlene Likens says the compromised machines are not being used in early voting and that no voter information was stolen. "There is nothing, nothing was compromised," said Likens.
