SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A brush fire in the Japatul Valley area exploded in size in about an hour on Saturday, forcing nearby residents to evacuate.The Valley Fire ignited off Spirit Trail and Japatul Road, just southeast of Alpine, just before 2:50 p.m., according to Cleveland National Forest. The fire had scorched about 1,500 acres and was 0% contained as of 5:50 p.m.Fire officials said the dangerous rate of spread was pushing the fire southwest toward Lawson Valley. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the shooting death of his father inside their Scripps Ranch home.At 8:39 p.m. Sunday, San Diego police responded to a report of a shooting at a home in the 11200 block of Affinity Court, near Scripps Ranch Boulevard.10News learned the suspected shooter's brother called 911 to report the incident.Officers arrived to find a 46-year-old Vietnamese man lying on a bedroom floor with at least one gunshot wound to his upper body. After life-saving efforts by paramedics, the man -- who was not immediately identified -- was pronounced dead at the scene.Officers combed the condominium complex and nearby area for the suspected shooter, who was identified as the victim’s 15-year-old son, but could not immediately locate him. Authorities later added that the boy is a Mira Mesa High School student. At about 1 a.m. Monday, officers responded to a reported sighting on Scripps Poway Parkway and saw the boy walking down the street. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A former San Diego Kaiser doctor who was caught watching child porn at work will have his license reinstated.The news of the reinstatement became available this week, in documents provided by the California Medical Board.Former psychiatrist Mark Zweifach went in front of the board three weeks ago for a hearing on reinstating his license. A video of the hearing recently became available to the public.For the first time on-camera, Zweifach describes his own shocking acts that still haunt him.LONGFORM: Former San Diego Kaiser doctor caught watching child porn at work tries to get his license back“Eleven years ago, on three occasions, I briefly viewed child pornography at my workplace,” he said.It was more than a decade ago that the admitted sex addict turned in his white coat, but the District Attorney's office didn't have enough evidence to bring criminal charges.California Medical Board paperwork reveals that the alarming discovery was made at a Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in El Cajon. Some of the paperwork reads, "While at work, on his Kaiser-issued computer, [he] viewed inappropriate images, including child pornography."“I didn't collect it. I didn't produce it.
