Luis Martinez-Haaz, 22, was arrested May 3 in relation to several open cases from April, officers said.Police said Martinez-Haaz worked as a street performer and dancer in Balboa Park, and would often approach women after his shows. He convinced them to walk to isolated areas where he would sexually assault them, investigators said. San Diego Police Sex Crimes Unit detectives are searching for any additional victims or people with information related to the cases. Martinez-Haaz is 5’7” and 145 pounds with short brown wavy hair. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Recent remedies aimed at reducing San Diego's homeless crisis have not been enough, according to a scientific 10News/San Diego Union-Tribune poll.The poll of 800 San Diego adults showed sentiments about addressing homelessness are not positive. When asked if they believed if homelessness was getting better, worse, or staying the same in San Diego, only 11 percent said it was getting better. About 60 percent said it's getting worse.Many believe that blame lies at the top of local government. Of those surveyed, 33 percent believe housing costs have contributed most to the homeless crisis, 22 percent said substance abuse, and 20 percent said mental health issues.Recently, San Diego officials opened three temporary tent shelters to try and transition some of the city's homeless population into housing. When asked if they thought the tents helped, 51 percent said yes, 20 percent said no, and 29 percent were not sure.A report by the San Diego Housing Commission shows from December 2017 to March 2018, 946 people have exited the three tents. According to the University of Texas, a paper published in the Lancet Infectious Diseases warns that the epidemic will worsen. The analysis considered a county’s volume of international travel from foreign countries as well as non-medical exemptions for children. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police are looking for a man described as mentally ill or under the influence of drugs.Sunday night at 8:58 p.m. someone called 9-1-1 describing a man acting irrationally. Police responded and found the Honda Accord matching the description of the call and tried to pull the car over.The driver flipped a u-turn and sped up to about 80 miles per hour, running three red lights down Governor Drive.Police slowed down to a safer speed and as they caught up to the driver they found the car crashed into the dead end fence.They say the man, described as Hispanic, in his late 20s, 5' 8" tall, wit ha shaved head, wearing a short sleeved shirt, a hoodie, and gray shorts took off. They believe he ran from the car.They searched the area, known as Rose Canyon Natural Park, and could not find the man.If you see him, police ask that you please not approach him and call 9-1-1. 918
