VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. -- Michael Yager says he was outraged after learning his son, Jacob, bullied multiple classmates at New Smyrna Beach Middle School in Volusia County, Florida. "I figured I would teach him a lesson that would embarrass him and make him feel the way kids feel," he said.Wanting to teach his 13-year-old a lesson the frustrated father took an unorthodox approach. "I wrote the sign, I'm a bully. Honk if you hate bullies." Yager drove his son to nearby State Route 442 and parked him on a busy corner.His son had to hold the sign high."Embarrassed and kind of nervous," Jacob admitted.He says it did not take long for people to start honking.  Some even stopped to talk to father and son."I had Edgewater Police stop by, I had Volusia County Sheriffs. WASHINGTON (AP) — A statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee that represented Virginia in the U.S. Capitol has been removed.Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam said in a statement that workers removed the statue from the National Statuary Hall Collection early Monday.“The Confederacy is a symbol of Virginia’s racist and divisive history, and it is past time we tell our story with images of perseverance, diversity, and inclusion,” said Northam.Each state is entitled to display two statues in the collection. Lee’s statue had stood with George Washington’s statue since 1909 as Virginia’s representatives in the Capitol.The Lee statue had been one among 13 located in the Crypt of the Capitol, representing the 13 original colonies.Northam had requested its removal and a state commission has recommended replacing Lee’s statue with a likeness of Barbara Johns.Johns was an American civil rights leader who protested poor conditions at her all-Black high school in the town of Farmville in 1951. Her court case became part of a landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision that struck down racial segregation in public schools.Virginia’s General Assembly must approve the replacement before a sculptor can be commissioned for the new statue. (CNS) - Police reached out to the public Friday for help in finding a 75-year-old Oceanside man who went missing from Vista.Edgar Cruz, an Oceanside resident, was last seen on Thursday at an undisclosed location in Vista, according to Oceanside police.Cruz is described as Latino, 5-foot-9 and weighing about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a hat, a dark green shirt and blue jeans.
