Jennifer Hasso has owned the 1924 Tudor-style home since 1998. She says she's invested millions to restore it to its glory. The city even designated it as historic. The house sits at the end of 2nd Avenue in Bankers Hill. Right behind it, a nearly one-acre site on Olive Street the city is eyeing for a community park with an AIDS memorial. The park would also include fitness and seating areas, walkways and an overlook deck. County property maps show the city owns the land immediately north of Hasso's home, which has no setback from its property line. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A 4.9-magnitude earthquake and several smaller shakeups recorded in Imperial County on Wednesday were reportedly felt in San Diego County.The swarm of earthquakes was centered around the Westmorland area. While many of the smaller quakes were recorded between 2.5- and 3.7-magnitude, about 80 earthquakes measuring at least 2.5-magnitude were recorded between 4 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.The largest earthquake as of 5:45 p.m. registered at 4.9-magnitude, according to the agency's latest earthquakes map.Seismologist Dr. Lucy Jones tweeted that Wednesday's series of earthquakes was one of the largest swarms Imperial Valley has seen, adding that the area is historically active in swarms."The swarm happening now south of the Salton Sea, near Westmoreland is over 30 km south of the end of the San Andreas," Jones tweeted. "It is in the Brawley seismic zone, a common source of swarms. So far largest is M4.4. Too far from the San Andreas to change the probability of a quake on it." 1004

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A 10-year-old boy who allegedly fired two rounds from a shotgun at San Diego Police officers after barricading himself in a Southcrest backyard shed is in custody, police say.Family members at the home in the 4000 block of Boston Ave., about a block north of Caesar Chavez Elementary School, called police at about 9 a.m. after the 10-year-old armed himself with a knife and hammer.When police arrived, the child ran and hid in a shed with a shotgun, SDPD said. The child fired two rounds at officers, according to police, but no one was injured.The 10-year-old barricaded himself for nearly two hours, before surrendering to police peacefully.SDPD said the child will be taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.The shotgun was recovered at the scene, police said, and investigators plan to look into how the child came into possession of the weapon.10News is monitoring this breaking news story. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two vehicles collided on Interstate 8 near State Route 79 today, injuring four people, authorities said.A black Honda sedan and a Toyota van collided near Alpine at 11:06 a.m., causing one of the vehicles to overturn and land on its roof, according to a California Highway Patrol report.Cal Fire reported four patients were taken to area hospitals.No further information was immediately available. 423
