The county put out a notice Wednesday noting it’s “in dire need of 1,000 workers for the March 3rd Election.”According to the ROV, workers can receive up to 5, depending on their position and placement. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego Unified School District says it has removed a letter from President Trump inserted into food baskets that, according to the district, downplays the importance of wearing a mask. The district says the letter “significantly diminishes the scientifically-backed importance of wearing a mask to protect against the transmission of COVID-19.”According to the district, the letter was placed into boxes of free groceries set to be distributed to 50 million families across the country.The district says President Trump’s letter recommends that Americans practice social distancing and “consider wearing a face covering in public.”“Science is clear: wearing a mask works to prevent the spread of the coronavirus,” Superintendent Cindy Marten said. “Masks are required in California and on every San Diego Unified school campus. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The suspect accused of supplying the fentanyl that led to the deadly overdose of a 25-year-old admitted to supplying the drug in court Tuesday. Uriah Odish admitted to selling more than 500 grams of what he knew to be fentanyl between 2017 and the day of the deadly overdose of Tiffany Hansen in 2018. “Every time we have an overdose death, we are going to come looking for the dealer,” said U.S. Attorney Robert Brewer. “We are using every available criminal and civil tool to combat this deadly epidemic and stop these tragic losses.”“We work every day to save lives and we grieve when we lose a precious soul to drugs,” said DEA Special Agent in Charge Karen Flowers. “We will continue to pursue anyone who deals death. Is that you? If so, we are coming and your time will soon be spent behind bars. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The suspect in the shooting death of a man near the 24 Hour Fitness in the Midway area is an undocumented immigrant with a prior immigration violation, according to law enforcement sources.San Diego Police arrived at the rear parking lot of the gym at 3675 Midway Drive February 25 to find Alexander Mazin, 27, suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. He died at the scene.After the shooting, officers surrounded an apartment at 30th St and Upas in North Park.
