SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the driver they say struck and killed a pedestrian in Mission Hills Thursday before fleeing the scene.According to police, the 57-year-old man was struck by the vehicle while crossing the street on the 1300 block of West Washington Avenue just after midnight. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Nine people were taken into custody Friday after border officials say a panga-style boat was stopped off the coast of Carlsbad.The boat was spotted at about 10:20 p.m. on Thursday by San Diego Air and Marine Branch crews. Officials say the crews used blue lights, sirens, and a spotlight to try and stop the boat, but it would not stop.Crews then used disabling rounds on the boat's engine, bringing the vessel to a stop about 12 miles west of Carlsbad.The nine people on the boat were taken into custody onshore by Border Patrol agents. 564

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person was killed and another person was in critical condition following a shooting in Shelltown early Saturday.The shooting was reported at about 1:30 a.m. near Epsilon St. and 42nd St., according to San Diego Police. Two men were standing outside when the shooting occurred, but it's unclear what led up to the gunshots.One man in his 50s died and another man in his 60s suffered non-life threatening injuries.Police were not able to immediately give a suspect description, but were interviewing neighbors Saturday morning. 556
