NEW YORK (AP) — Citigroup's Jane Fraser will become the first woman ever to lead a Wall Street bank when she succeeds CEO Michael Corbat in February. The New York bank announced the succession Thursday. Fraser is currently head of Citi's global consumer banking division, a major part of the bank that oversees checking and savings accounts but also Citi's massive credit card business. For 16 years, Fraser has worked in various departments within Citi:- 2015-19: Chief Executive Officer of Citi’s Latin American region.- 2013-15: Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Consumer and Commercial Banking and CitiMortgage. - 2009-13: Chief Executive Officer of Citi's Private Bank. - 2007-09: Global Head of Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions.In 2004, she joined the company in its Corporate and Investment Banking division.She previously worked at McKinsey & Company, Goldman Sachs, and Asesores Bursátiles.Fraser also serves as a member of the Board of Dean’s Advisors at Harvard Business School and Stanford University’s Global Advisory Council. NEW YORK CITY — A man sleeping on a Harlem street was hit with fireworks and suffered burns, police said Monday after a video of the incident circulated on social media.Video shows someone lighting and throwing a firework at the man, who appears to be homeless. The firework explodes as it hits the man.Another person can be seen in the video filming the incident.An NYPD spokesperson said the department received a call at around 4 a.m. Monday near 62 Lenox Ave. (Malcolm X Boulevard) in Harlem.Officers found the man, 66, suffering from minor burns. NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- The teacher credited with stopping a school shooting at Noblesville West Middle School was released from the hospital on Saturday.Police say science teacher Jason Seaman, 39, tackled a student armed with two handguns who started firing in his classroom Friday morning. NEW YORK (AP) — The nation’s largest movie theater chain, will reopen in the U.S. on Aug. 20 with retro ticket prices of 15 cents per movie. AMC Entertainment said Thursday that it expects to open the doors to more than 100 cinemas — or about a sixth of its nationwide locations — on Aug. 20 with throwback pricing for a day. AMC theaters have reopened in numerous international countries but have remained shuttered in the U.S. since March. NEW DELHI (AP) — India’s increasing coronavirus caseload has made the Asian giant the world's second-worst-hit country behind the United States. The 90,802 cases added in the past 24 hours pushed India’s total past Brazil with more than 4.2 million cases. India is now behind only the United States, where more than 6.2 million people have been infected, according to Johns Hopkins University.India’s Health Ministry on Monday also reported 1,016 new deaths for a total of 71,642, the third-highest national toll.
