CVS hears the Amazon footsteps -- and the pharmacy giant is wasting no time trying to get ahead of any Jeff Bezos plan to disrupt the drug store business the way that he has the rest of retail.CVS said Monday that it plans to offer next day delivery of prescription drugs nationwide in 2018. There have even been recent rumors that CVS may look to buy health insurer Aetna.Aetna scrapped plans to merge with rival Humana earlier this year due to intense regulatory scrutiny. CINCINNATI, Ohio — Customs officials in Cincinnati discovered thousands of live crabs that they said someone was trying to smuggle into the country.Agriculture specialists with U.S. Customs and Border Protection discovered the invasive Chinese mitten crabs on Oct. 16 while conducting routine inspections, the agency said in a news release.The crabs are considered a seasonal delicacy in Asia, according to Customs officials. But they have had a "disastrous impact" on habitats where they've been introduced.The crabs were hidden in packages labeled as various types of clothing. They were being sent to various residences in New York. The shipments were refused entry into the U.S. Across the country, Customs agriculture specialists intercepted more than 352 pests and 4,638 quarantine materials on any given day in the fiscal year 2017, according to the agency. 877

CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Warmer ocean temperatures are being blamed after 10 to 15 people were stung by stingrays along the beach in Coronado Tuesday afternoon. According to lifeguards, 10 to 15 people were stung by the creatures after 4 p.m. Lifeguards say ocean temperatures, which reached the mid 60s Tuesday, were to blame for the increase in stingray activity. Lifeguards added that, when ocean waters warm up, it’s common to see an increase in stingray activity, but it’s unusual to see so many stings in a single day. Crews placed purple flags along the shores of Coronado Tuesday to warn of the increase, but say tourists may not know about the dangers the rays pose. The flags can also be used to warn about other creatures, such as jellyfish in the water. The California round ray is known to feed in the shallows off the California coast. Officials say the stingrays lay partially buried in the sand while hunting, making them difficult to spot for unsuspecting beachgoers. The stingray’s barb is covered in venom and mucus that causes severe pain if it breaks the skin. To avoid stepping on the rays, lifeguards recommend shuffling your feet. If you do happen to be stung, below is a list of what you should do to treat the sting: 1. Stop the bleeding.2. Go to the nearest lifeguard.3. Soak foot in hot water to deactivate venom.4. COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- "Tonight, it feels like our tears will never stop and the lump in our throats is (too) big to breathe through," Todd Allen wrote Thursday evening.His son, 2-year-old Brody, became the center of a community-wide September Christmas celebration in their small community just outside of Cincinnati after the Allen family revealed the toddler likely would not survive until Dec. 25. According to Allen, doctors now predict he may not survive until Halloween."There is no easy way to say this but Brody's body is failing him," Allen wrote in the Team Brody Facebook group. "We have been told that Brody may have only days left with us. Our hearts are absolutely broken."Brody was born with a rare brain cancer, the symptoms of which did not emerge until he had developed four serious tumors. After 98 days of treatment, there were five, and doctors at Cincinnati Children's Hospital said they could no longer help. At that time, they predicted he would live no longer than Oct. 5.The family took Brody home and redecorated their house for Christmas, hoping to at least make his last months happy and comfortable. Todd Allen took time off from his job as an over-the-road trucker. When neighbors learned about the out-of-season celebration, they decorated their own homes, sent cards to the family and even held a Christmas parade Sept. 23.Memories of that kindness have helped the family cope with Thursday's news, Allen wrote. As they have in the past, they plan to "trust that God has a plan," keep Brody comfortable and remain grateful for the support of everyone who joins them on their journey."Brody is here," Allen wrote. CLAREMORE, Okla. -- Sequoyah High School students were not afraid to speak out after they said school officials told them they had to remove American flags mounted on their vehicles.On Thursday, a student showed up to the school, located about 40 minutes northwest of Tulsa, with a flag mounted on his car. “As soon as we got out of our cars in the parking lot they were already on us trying to get them down," student Kennith Hoover said. “The American flag symbolizes no racism and it's just strictly for America's freedom," student Jake Storts said. It's a symbol of patriotism, freedom and history. “I think it’s a fight that they picked that they will never win," local business owner Larry Banzet said. “The flag was in great shape, it was mounted properly," Hoover said. "It looked perfect. There was no kind of disrespect about it and they told him to take it down.” Friday, a group of students decided to stand with their friend. “You can’t tell a kid to take the flag down," Hoover said. "We disagree with that so that’s how it started.” “We’re not allowed to fly them because he can’t allow the Islamic or the KKK flag then he can’t allow the American flag," Storts said. Hoover says the school's reasoning change more than once. “Yesterday they said it was a distraction to drivers and students," he said.
