Police in Illinois have deemed a local man a hero after he raced to rescue a man from a burning vehicle on Sunday evening.According to the Aurora Police Department's Facebook page, a 57-year-old man rushed to the rescue after a single-car crash just after midnight on Saturday. Dash cam video from the crash shows the man dragging the driver away from the car by his legs as flames shoot out of the driver's side window.According to Aurora police, it was 58-year-old Jose Martinez who rushed out of his home to save the driver, a 34-year-old man. A second man, 29-year-old Devin Johnson, also helped by pulling the man away from the car.  "To say Jose's actions were heroic and brave are an understatement. Had he not taken immediate action, the driver would not have lived," the department wrote on Facebook. " Devin should also be commended for assuring the man was out of harm's way. People are protesting outside of Mitch McConnell's Kentucky and Washington, D.C. offices as the Senate Majority Leader vows the Senate will vote on replacing Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court with someone nominated by President Trump.The protest, created by the Poor People's Campaign, called for people to drive around McConnell's offices in Kentucky: London, Lexington, Fort Wright, Louisville, Bowling Green, and Paducah, and his Washington, D.C. home. Protesters say they are also "flooding his phone lines" at McConnell's offices. At that time, the business wrote that it’s committed to evaluating its packaging and would take steps to ensure it does not inadvertently contribute to racism."B&G Foods unequivocally stands against prejudice and injustice of any kind," wrote the company.It’s not immediately clear when customers can expect the Cream of Wheat packaging to be changed.The Times reports that the character on the box was once named “Rastus,” a pejorative term for Black men, and that he was once depicted as a barely literate cook who didn’t know what vitamins were.Cream of Wheat is the latest of several products which are being redesigned to remove racially insensitive imagery.Earlier this month, it was announced that Uncle Ben’s rice products would be renamed Ben’s Original and the image of Uncle Ben would be removed. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Bill Cosby's lawyers are arguing in a new appeals filing that it was “fundamentally unfair” to let prosecutors use Cosby's damaging deposition from a sex accuser's lawsuit against him at trial. The filing made Tuesday largely focuses on what Cosby believes was a binding promise from a district attorney that he wouldn't be charged in the case. A spokeswoman for the Montgomery County district attorney's office isn't commenting but says prosecutors will file a response within a month.
