AUSTIN, Texas — A Texas man is making a statement by writing the names of 1,400 Black Americans who have died at the hands of police in the United States on his car.20-year-old Jeremiah Hindberg says he used a database to research Black Americans who have died at the hands of police in the U.S. and came up with 1,400 names.He wrote each one on his vehicle with a silver sharpie.Hindberg says he is using his car in hopes to start a conversation on what the Black Lives Matter movement means to him."A lot of sadness. Astronaut Nick Hague was ready for a mission that would send him and cosmonaut Aleksey Ovchinin to the International Space Station to join a crew of three that was already on board the station. But just minutes into last week's flight on board the Soyuz MS-10 craft, the crew needed to abort the mission due to a booster failure. The incident marked the first aborted flight of a Soyuz craft in more than four decades. On Wednesday, Hague described the harrowing moments that followed after the booster's failure. “We were tossed back and forth inside the capsule a little bit and thrusted away from the rocket as soon as the launch abort system had recognized there was a problem with the booster," Hague said. That is when Hague's training and past as a US Air Force pilot kicked in. “My career in the Air Force has done a lot to help me prepare for stressful situations like this, whether it’s through deployments or my time in flight test where we have had to deal with failures in aircraft that you’re in and having to get down on the ground immediately,” he said. “We train endlessly to address those types of situations."After surviving an incident at 30 miles above the ground, Hague plans on making another attempt to visit the International Space Station in 2019.   1338

(AP) — Authorities say a woman stole ,000 worth of quarters and her getaway car was a baby stroller.Bakersfield police officers noticed the woman Friday struggling to push the stroller but quickly realized there was no baby inside, according to the Bakersfield Californian .Police discovered the quarters, which 29-year-old Darrin Fritz had allegedly just stolen from a home, the newspaper reported. Fritz allegedly tried to flee from the officers.She was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest and two outstanding misdemeanor warrants.A post on Twitter from the Bakersfield Police Department shows thousands of quarters in evidence bags.It was not immediately clear if Fritz had an attorney who could speak on her behalf. 857

AUSTIN, Texas. (KGTV) -- A series of explosions in Austin has terrified residents as hundreds of local and federal officials try and determine who is behind the incidents. The first explosion was set off on March 2 and killed 39-year-old Anthony Stephan House. Numerous other people have been killed or injured by the series of bombings including 17-year-old Draylen Mason, who was killed after a package bomb went off inside his home on March 12. Mason's mother was also injured in the explosion. A 75-year-old woman, 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were also all injured in the serial bombings. The six bombings left police in Austin warning residents to not take any chances, saying if it looks suspicious, don't approach it. The timeline below shows all six of the bombings federal officials believe are tied together:  887

However, it's different this year.“I started a garden,” said Curfman. “I’ve never planted vegetables my entire life, but my mom always had a garden, and I love it.” Her newfound happiness is coming with just as much heartbreak. “I submitted my retirement papers,” said the teacher of 28 years. It was a tough decision, but with COVID-19 threatening the in-person relationships she loved so much while teaching, she was forced to reconsider going back to school. “I had a student ask me, ‘Is this coronavirus going to kill us all?’ and I was like, ‘Oh my goodness.
