SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — South Dakota health officials say a number of people who attended the 10-day Sturgis Motorcycle Rally this month, including some who came from out of state, have come down with COVID-19. State Department of Health officials on Thursday didn't give an exact number of rallygoers who tested positive, but they said it was under 25. State epidemiologist Josh Clayton says the health department has received reports from other states that people who traveled from the rally have tested positive. Contact tracers have been able to work with most people to determine who they were around and may have infected. But the health department has issued public warnings for two bars — one in Sturgis and the other at a popular stop for riders along U.S. Highway 385 near Mount Rushmore. Clayton said they did not know how many people were exposed at the bars.The health department did not immediately reply to a question about what other states have reported infections in people who attended the rally.The rally, which ended Sunday, brought hundreds of thousands of people from far and wide to Sturgis. Several United States government agencies issued an alert on Friday to financial institutions about a North Korea-backed hacking group known as the BeagleBoyz.In a joint statement, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Department of the Treasury, and the U.S. Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) said the hackers steal money through fraudulent bank transfers and ATM cashouts throughout several countries, including the United States."Since February 2020, North Korea has resumed targeting banks in multiple countries to initiate fraudulent international money transfers and ATM cashouts," the agencies said in the release. "The recent resurgence follows a lull in bank targeting since late 2019. This advisory provides an overview of North Korea’s extensive, global cyber-enabled bank robbery scheme, a short profile of the group responsible for this activity, in-depth technical analysis, and detection and mitigation recommendations to counter this ongoing threat to the Financial Services sector."Active since 2014, the group stole million from the Bank of Bangladesh in 2016, and were responsible for the FastCash ATM attacks in 2018, the agencies said.The group has attempted to steal nearly billion since at least 2015, the alert said."Any BeagleBoyz robbery directed at one bank implicates many other financial services firms in both the theft and the flow of illicit funds back to North Korea," the alert stated.According to the warning, the hackers have also targeted financial institutions in Argentina, Chile, India, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, and Spain. 1629

The concert features three local bands, and one special, surprise guest artist.The bands are Dr. Seahorse, the Grinnell Trio and Jungle Poppins.But the real stars will be the kids and young adults from the program, some of whom will perform with the bands on stage."It's thrilling for them," says Banding Together Co-Founder and Director Angela Meier. "They hear that people like the Rolling Stones have performed a show there and now they get to as well!"The program uses music therapy to help people with special needs come out of their shell. Meier says it's inspiring and amazing to see how they progress."I've had students who have difficulty putting sentences together," says Meier. "And using rhythm and music, all of the sudden they're able to sing whole sentences."In addition to individual and small group classes, Banding Together runs 42 "Jam Sessions" throughout the year, where the students and musicians join together to make music."It's not just that it's making them feel good, but it's giving them self-esteem," says Meier. "It gives them social skills and prepares them to go out into the community and give back."The concert is open to the public and will also feature live auctions, silent auctions and other fundraisers.
