United Airlines is looking to add flights to their schedule in October, including resuming previously canceled trips and adding new ones.According to the airline, this will bring them up to flying 40 percent of their full schedule in October compared to October 2019. In September, they are only expecting to fly 34 percent of their full schedule.The news comes a week after the airline announced it will furlough more than 16,000 employees in October. That’s when federal bailout money from the federal government expires.The resumed flights include eight routes to Hawaii, “pending approval of the state’s pre-arrival COVID testing program.” Hawaii recently extended their out-of-state visitors ban to October 1. Once they allow visitors and tourists again, travelers must fill out a “safe travels” form and go through pandemic screening measures."We continue to be data-driven and realistic in our approach to rebuilding our network," Ankit Gupta, United's vice president of Domestic Network Planning said in a press release. "Because October is typically a slower month for leisure travel, we're adjusting our schedules to reflect these seasonal changes in customer demand while resuming service or adding capacity on routes where we're seeing increased customer demand for travel."Some of those “data-driven” decisions may have led United to realign their schedule to match “current demand for leisure travel.” The airline says in October they will add more flights on days popular with leisure travelers looking for a long weekend getaway, and will schedule fewer flights on days where demand is lower.Other changes and additions in October include:Resuming or starting new service on nearly 50 routes in the US; mostly from United’s hubs in Chicago, Denver and Houston.Resuming additional service to Florida and along the west coast.Resuming service to 14 international destinations, including parts of South America and Mexico.United was one of the airlines last week who announced they will be permanently eliminating change fees on flights within the US. Two days after President Donald Trump told the right-wing hate group Proud Boys to “stand back and stand by” when asked to denounce white supremacists, his lack of a clear denouncement is still making news.His spokesperson, Kayleigh McEnany, in her first briefing to reporters since Tuesday’s debate, also seemed to avoid a direct statement condemning these groups.John Roberts, a reporter from Fox News, asked McEnany, “I’d like to ask you for a definitive and declarative statement, without ambiguity or deflection, as the person who speaks for the president, does the president denounce white supremacism and groups that espouse it in all its forms?”She responded that the president has answered the question already. She then read past statements from President Trump dating from 2017, 2018 and in 2019 in which he stated “in one voice our nation must condemn racism, bigotry, and white supremacy.”Roberts pressed McEnany, “Just to clear it up this morning, can you, naming it, can you make a declarative statement that the president denounces it.”“The president has denounced white supremacy, the KKK and hate groups in all forms,” McEnany responded, eluding to previous statements from the president and offering to email them to Roberts.During Tuesday’s presidential debate, moderator Chris Wallace asked the president if he would denounce white supremacists and hate groups. This is a left wing problem."Then on Wednesday, when asked to clarify his statements and given an opportunity to condemn white supremacists, President Trump told reporters he doesn’t know who the Proud Boys are.“I don’t know who Proud Boys are, but whoever they are, they have to stand down and let law enforcement do their work,” he said,FBI Director Christopher Wray told lawmakers antifa is an ideology, not an organization. This contradicts Trump, who has said he wants to designate antifa as a terror group.“We don’t really think of threats in terms of left, right, at the FBI. We’re focused on the violence, not the ideology,” he said later.The FBI director said during the mid-September hearing, racially motivated violent extremists, such as white supremacists, have been responsible for the most lethal attacks in the U.S. in recent years. But this year the most lethal violence has come from anti-government activists, such as anarchists and militia-types, Wray said.The Proud Boys are a group that is designated as a "hate group" by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The Proud Boys embrace political violence against leftists. The group has battled with Black Lives Matter protesters in Oregon throughout the summer. The New York Times also reports that the group instigated violence against self-described anti-fascists in New York in 2018.Vice reports that some Proud Boys members took the President's call to "stand back and stand by" as validation to continue battling leftists in Portland. Two students were injured after a gun accidentally discharged at a school in Fulton County, Georgia on Thursday.Police received reports of a loud pop coming from a classroom at Banneker High School just before 3:30 p.m.According to a spokesperson with Fulton County Schools, a bullet hit a female student in the ankle, and also grazed another student. Both students were treated for minor injuries, according to the spokesperson.Officials say officers searched the classroom and found a low-caliber handgun hidden in a box. It's believed the weapon was brought on school property in a book bag by a student, according to the school spokesperson.The spokesperson added that "the investigation into this incident is ongoing and the [Fulton County Schools Police Department] plans to file criminal charges against everyone involved in this incident in accordance with District policy."Three students will face charges in the incident. One student is being charged with one count possession of a weapon and one count of a weapon on campus. Two students are being charged with reckless conduct because of their contact with the weapon.The spokesperson told CBS46 the gun did not belong to the injured students.No bags of any kind are being allowed into the school building on Friday.  1297

(KGTV) - A North San Diego County resident resorted to Wild West measures after he was the victim of a crime, creating "Wanted: Dead or Alive" posters to find a thief.The San Diego Sheriff’s Office says approximately ,800 worth of items ranging from power tools to a mountain bike were stolen from a home on Valley Center Road on February 16.SDSO was working the case when the homeowner told deputies he had hung posters with the suspect’s image bearing ‘wanted dead or alive’ and the station’s number around town.“We don’t encourage vigilantism,” said Sgt. Russell Ryan.Ryan says SDSO asked the man to remove the posters but the man claimed he was exercising his first amendment rights.SDSO’s Valley Center substation took to Twitter to clarify they were, in fact, looking for the suspect but there was not a death warrant for alleged thief.Deputies were able identify the suspect as 23-year-old Jose Martinez, thanks to the homeowner's surveillance video. Martinez was taken into custody on Wednesday.Martinez is currently being held at the Vista Detention Facility on several burglary-related charges and is believed to be related to other recent thefts, according to SDSO.Sgt. Ryan says deputies have been able to recover the stolen bike and are searching for the other items. 1342

Two men are in jail after police say they stole a car -– with an infant inside.About 7:30 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a business in Boise, Idaho.“Evidence indicates that a car had been left running outside of a store, when it was stolen by two men,” according to a Boise Police Department news release. A 6-month-old infant was in the car when it was stolen. A parent pursued the car, until the driver stopped several blocks away.“One of the men exited with the child, who was still strapped into the infant car seat.  (The parent) safely took the child from the man. Thankfully, the child was unharmed,” the release stated.The suspect, later identified as Raymundo Gutierrez, 23, of Boise, was detained at the scene until officers arrived.  The other male fled in the stolen vehicle, officers said.Gutierrez was booked into the Ada County Jail and charged with accessory to grand theft, a felony.About 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, Boise Police received information that the stolen vehicle had been recovered in Canyon County -- and the driver, later identified as Robert DeShazo, was booked into the Canyon County Jail. He’s charged with felony possession of stolen property and driving under the influence, a misdemeanor.  Authorities said both suspects could face additional charges.          1396
