(KGTV) - A woman who says she was drugged and raped by Daniel Dorado while on a job interview at his La Jolla Restaurant nearly three years ago, is sharing her story only with 10News.Dorado was arrested Wednesday on 18 counts, including rape. RELATED: La Jolla restaurant owner arrested on 18 charges, including rapeThe woman, who requested her identity be protected, said the alleged assault happened at Voce Del Mare on the night of April 27, 2015."I went in there for a job interview, I would never have imagined going through a sexual assault and not knowing how it happened," the accuser said. She tells 10News it began when she answered an ad on Craigslist for a hostess position. She recalls arriving around 9:30 p.m. for an interview with Dorado, who at one point offered her a glass of wine, which she accepted. What happened next is unclear."What I do recall is waking up around four in the morning and I did not have any clothes on...he had nothing on," she said.The people who had been at the restaurant when she arrived were gone, and she said she was locked in, alone with Dorado. It was then that she remembers the phone ringing. On the other end was her mother, wondering where she was. "Honestly I feel because my mother called the restaurant around four something in the morning is what made him let me leave, knowing that somebody knew I was there," she said. The accuser said she knew she'd been assaulted because of how her body felt. "I had vaginal discomfort," she said. "I felt as if there must have been penetration at some point, bruises around my chest, I was in great pain."Although she filed a police report, she was ultimately told there was not enough evidence to charge Dorado, until now. "Knowing that I'm not the only one, I want justice and I hope that if there's anybody out there who knows this individual, who was a victim, that they come forward so there can be justice," she said.  2006

LA JOLLA, Calif. (KGTV) - Four former students are suing the San Diego Unified School District and a former teacher, claiming he sexually assaulted them in high school. Team 10 investigative reporter Jennifer Kastner interviewed one of his accusers who says the school district failed to protect her. “When I was a senior at La Jolla High School in the year of 2003, I was sexually assaulted by my physics teacher,” says former student Loxie Gant.She’s one of the four women who are now suing the former teacher and the district, claiming the district had numerous opportunities to punish or report his behavior, but failed to do so.Attorney Mark Boskovich tells 10News, “The school district knew about these sexual assaults because the students reported [them]. This is not one of those cases where people didn't come forward. They did.”10News is not naming the former teacher because he has not been criminally charged.He declined to offer us any comment on the lawsuit.According to the suit, in 2003 two students reported that he put his hands down a female student's pants, but the complaint alleges that even after the district substantiated the complaint, it never reported it to the San Diego County District Attorney's Office or California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.The lawsuit states that between roughly 2003 and 2014, multiple female students, including Gant, reported being sexually assaulted by the same former teacher. Their attorney says he was allowed to keep teaching until he retired three years ago and now collects an annual pension of more than ,000.“I’ve been trying for years to get San Diego Unified to admit their faults and take responsibility for what happened,” adds Gant. According to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, the former teacher's credentials were revoked last year because of misconduct, but the details of the misconduct and whether it’s related to the allegations of sexual assault are not being disclosed to 10News. LAKESIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - Scientists are using an autonomous underwater vehicle to help get purified wastewater to your faucets.  The remote-controlled sub operated by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography helps measure how the purified water mixes with the Lake Jennings reservoir water.It’s one of the state-required steps water officials need to take before purified wastewater from the Padre Dam Water District’s Advanced Water Purification System is introduced to homes through Helix Water District’s Lake Jennings and water treatment facility.“There’s that factor that it’s coming from a waste facility originally.  So, what happens if there’s some sort of failure that didn’t get caught? Well, now there’s a buffer. There’s a buffer. It will sit in the reservoir,” said Helix’s Director of Water Quality Brian Olney.If all goes as planned, Padre Dam will need to expand its Advanced Water Purification System and build a pipeline to deliver that water to Lake Jennings.  Olney said that could happen by 2023. 1045

LEXINGTON, Ky. — A car wash in Lexington, Kentucky is offering a wash, a shine, and a scare this Halloween season.Rainstorm Car Wash has transformed its facility into the ‘Tunnel of Terror,’ a family friendly event that will be held every Friday and Saturday night until Halloween.“With all the COVID stuff, a lot of haunted houses weren't open or anything like that,” said Reese Kemp, the manager of Rainstorm's Lexington location. “So we figured let's have a great time.”When Gov. Andy Beshear unveiled his plan for a safe Halloween, he urged people to avoid haunted houses, citing the likelihood that COVID-19 could spread in such tight quarters.Those concerns don’t really apply to a haunted car wash."When you're in your car, you don't have to worry about getting within six feet,” Kemp notes. “Your windows are up the entire time, the [employees] can have a blast and you don't have to worry about coming into contact or spreading or anything like that.”While your car is getting washed, people will notice employees dressed up as scary characters, trailing the cars to give families a fright.As part of the event, Rainstorm has partnered with local food banks.
