CHICAGO, Ill. – Travis Scott has become the first person since Michael Jordan to get a signature meal at McDonald’s.The fast-food chain announced its partnership with the Houston-born rapper last week, saying they plan to collaborate on food, fashion and community efforts.From Sept. 8 through Oct. 4, McDonald’s says it will offer “The Travis Scott Meal,” which includes a Quarter Pounder with cheese, bacon and lettuce, fries with BBQ sauce to dip, and a Sprite. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A group of parents hosted a rally Monday evening calling on Chula Vista Elementary School District officials to reopen schools for in-person learning. Parents said they want the district to move forward with a phased reopening approach, a plan that was supposed to start on Oct. 26.However, the district halted the repoening plan at the beginning of October, citing concerns about rising COVID-19 cases in two specific ZIP codes -- 91911 and 92154.Parents argued that there is a safe way to go back to in-person learning, but they feel the district isn't ready. CVESD Superintendent Francisco Escobedo said he does want to get children back in the classroom and is hoping cases in those ZIP codes go down so they can reopen by the end of the year. He added that the district is still working with employee associations and labor groups in hopes of coming to an agreement so teachers can have everything they need to safely do their job. 976

(KGTV) – The Chula Vista Elementary School District’s appearance on a website list of applicants seeking to reopen schools was determined to be a mistake, the district told ABC 10News.CVESD never applied for a waiver, stating on their Facebook page on Thursday night:“We are aware of a ‘Chula Vista Elementary’ fraudulently being listed as an applicant for a school reopening waiver. Our District has NOT applied for a waiver to reopen our schools. As a part of the waiver process, we would consult with labor units, parents and community organizations first. According to police, officials discovered that the juvenile was responsible for the second of two threats against the school. "The juvenile told police that he had seen the first threat online and decided to 'join-in' to further scare people. He said he thought it would be funny," police said. The teenager was arrested for making criminal threats and is expected to be released to his parents.
